BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The position will be working under the direct supervision and guidance of Head of Engineering Unit receiving regular feedback on work performed. The purpose of the assignment is to provide project management support to the engineering unit in regard to climate smart kitchens, field related data analysis and mapping support.

- Contribute towards the development of a limited number of projects, plans and processes, ensuring alignment with wider programme policies and guidance.
- Provide project management support to specific and defined programs and projects of small to moderate size that are relatively straight forward in nature, ensuring a coordinated approach with wider programs that complies with WFP standards and procedures.
- In close coordination with Engineering and the School Meals Programme team, engage in qualitative and quantitative research and provide technical support in the implementation of clean energy solutions for kitchen infrastructure
- Ensure key database is kept up to date and any mapping product are disseminated on time.
- Contribute with data mapping to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on programs and activities that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
- Liaise with internal counterparts to ensure effective collaboration, monitor ongoing projects.
- Collect and analyze situation reports, field bulletins and other situational reports from field coordinator and partners and translate the data into geographic data.
- Provide support to manage the technical team aspects of the procurement process for given projects
- Support the identification, development and management of potential partnerships to collaborative working leading to improved food assistance packages.
- Support the capacity building of WFP staff, partners and national government to prepare for and respond to food assistance needs, e.g. through project management support of learning initiatives.
- Provide guidance to support staff, acting as a point of referral and assisting them with analysis and queries.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
Advanced University degree (Masterโs) in Geography, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance, or First University Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses
Experience:
- At least one year progressively responsible experience in designing, managing and reporting from a data mapping perspective with particular focus on engineering and food security programs. More years of relevant experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in designing clean energy solutions for school kitchen infrastructure
- Experience working and collaborating with partner agencies supporting synergies in programs as per donor requirements.
- Experience in managing technical programs and building partnerships with stakeholders, donors and beneficiaries.
- Experience working with the United Nations is an asset
Desired Skills:
- Has experience of working in hard-to-reach locations co ordinating with school management committees and local governments
Languages:
- Excellent written and spoken English and Nepali languages
