Description
Programme Advisor in the Chief Agency Programme Advisor Office, Inspector Generalโs Office, Director Generalโs Services.
You will be part of a group of senior experts (โESA Rapid Reaction Forceโ), responsible for organising, conducting and participating in a wide range of independent reviews and enquiry boards of ESA activities in support of relevant directorates or as requested by DG-I.
Duties
Under the direct authority of the Chief Agency Programme Advisor, in the execution of your duties, you will be:
- responsible for providing rapid, crossโAgency response to mission critical engineering and programmatic issues and proactively identifying, avoiding and mitigating risks;
- performing peer reviews on technical and programmatic matters of Agency-wide relevance;
- executing enquiry boards, independent assessments and other ad hoc technical and/or programmatic investigations at the request of the Inspector General;
- proposing methodologies, standards and tools aimed at supporting the delivery of high-performance projects โ including NewSpace;
- organising and conducting ad-hoc assessments, key reviews, technical and programmatic investigations of programmes/projects, and providing support to resource assessments and integrated project reviews;
- performing assessment and review of Agency-wide risk registers and processes.

You should have a masterโs degree in engineering and/or management.
Additional requirements
You should also have:
- the ability to provide strategic direction to individuals and teams in order to delivery complex projects within adopted performances, cost and schedule and other constraints and propose improvements as needed;
- the ability to reach solution-oriented, pragmatic and timely decisions;
- solid communication skills, ability to interface and network with people at all levels.
Several years of hands-on experience in space project environment is considered an asset.

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.

In accordance with the European Space Agencyโs security procedures and as part of the selection process, successful candidates will be required to undergo basic screening before appointment conducted by an external background screening service.
In principle, recruitment will be within the advertised grade band (A2-A4). However, if the selected candidate has less than four years of relevant professional experience following the completion of the masterโs degree, the position may be filled at A1 level.
