Job Summary:

CRS is seeking a Program Support Officer for the CDC-funded global childhood immunization project who will coordinate the provision of responsive, effective, and efficient program support and administrative services in support of the Catholic Relief Servicesโ€™ (CRS) mission to serve the poor and vulnerable. The project will reach zero- and under-immunized children with immunization services in Northern Nigeria including fragile and conflict settings. Project interventions will focus on: (a) Supporting immunization uptake for polio eradication, measles and rubella reduction and elimination, hepatitis B and maternal and neonatal tetanus elimination; (b) strengthening surveillance systems to improve preparedness and response to outbreaks of VPDs; strengthening of immunization delivery systems and capacities. The Program Support Officer (PSO) contributes to the overall success of the POISED project by providing operational and administrative support for program management activities within CRS Nigeria.ย The position holder will work closely with the program managers to provide necessary corporate and logistical support to the workstreams of the project. The position holder willย ensure stewardship of resources, and a high-quality service approach are integrated into administrative systems, policies, and procedures

Roles and Key Responsibilities:ย 

Coordinate and report on activities and required resources to ensure cost efficient and quality project implementation and deliver on other administrative support functions. Help ensure administrative systems, processes, and policies are in line with agency standards and donor and local law regulations.ย  Serve as liaison with the operations unit of CRS Nigeria facilitating seamless communication. Engage with relevant external stakeholders (government officials, landlords, service providers, etc.)ย on assigned administrative matters and help ensure required authorizations and documents are up to date. Coordinate the efficient use of CP assets and rented facilities. Help ensure fully compliant procurement of office materials and asset management systems. Help identify safety issues and ensuring a safe and sound work environment. Coordinate the provision of travel and logistics support and services to staff, program participants and visitors. Coordinate event planning activities, including delegation visits, training and workshops.

Travel - Must be willing and able to travel up to 30% of the time.ย 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilitiesย ย 

Good planning, organizational and time management skills Strong customer service orientation with very good communication and interpersonal and clear writing skillsย  Ethical conduct and ability to maintain confidentialityย  Proactive, resourceful, solutions-oriented and results-oriented High level of interpersonal skills Ability to work as part of a team as well as work autonomously Ability to interpret and apply policies, requirements and procedures and use corporate systems (such as travel booking systems) Ability to use initiative and make decisions when completing tasks required, ensuring key roles are completed within required time frames

Preferred Qualificationsย 

Experience and proficient skills in MS Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and information management systems.

Basic Qualificationsย 

Bachelor's degree in business administration or relevant field preferred.ย Minimum of 5 years' work experience in project and administrative support functions, with increasing responsibility. Experience with a local or international NGO a plus.
