    Reporting to the Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience Building (CCARB) Coordinator with the overall guidance of the WFP Tajikistan Head of Programme, the incumbent is expected to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

    External Coordination

    • Serve as main interlocutor with the donor, KOICA, Tajikistan office.
    • Represent WFP in various technical forums with key government officials involved in agriculture and natural resources management (NRM) in general, and specifically with agricultural technology (agri-tech), the Ministry of Agriculture; the Ministry of Trade and Economic Development; Ministry of Industry and New Technologies; etc.).
    • Establish networks and partnerships with academia and private sector stakeholders, research institutes and technology companies of Korean origin, to further project goals and ensure the latest innovations are being considered.
    • Serve as main liaison to the project steering committee, serving as secretariate.
    • Serve as main liaison to UN agencies, international financial institutions, nongovernmental organizations, and other development partners to engage in complementary initiatives and facilitate information sharing.
    • Provide advisory and technical support to the government, private sector, and civil society in designing and implementing the agri-tech project, ensuring strong collaboration in the fields of agriculture, and related technology.
    • Lead resource mobilization efforts to ensure available funds for future agriculture and NRM projects and activities.
    • Facilitate learning exchanges among field offices, with other development partners and through South-South and triangular cooperation, especially the Youth for South initiative, with a strong focus on Korean start-ups, among others.

      Internal Implementation

      • Lead the WFP agri-tech effort in coordination with national government entities, private sector stakeholders, cooperating partners in line with national priorities and plans, such as the Conception of Digital Economy in the Republic of Tajikistan, 2019.
      • Develop an agri-business strategy, business plan, management plan and market-linked farming plan to achieve the project objectives.
      • Develop and deploy a capacity strengthening plan across the food supply chain, including needs identification,
      • Prepare a detailed analysis of selected value chains with quantitative and qualitative description of needs; value chain mapping of actors; economic analysis, production and market costs and revenues; value additions and profit margin along the chain, including income and employment, and list of potential agribusinesses and agri-tech start-ups interested to collaborate with the project.
