ย Context Under the overall ย supervision of the Senior Program Manager for Peace and Development Coordination (PDC) unit and direct supervision of Program Officer (PDC), and in coordination with relevant thematic focal points in PDC, the sub offices, and other departments, the candidate will perform the following functions:ย
1.ย ย ย ย Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.ย
2.ย ย ย ย Assist in producing project-related documents and talking points, background briefs, communication materials, and any other documents for revision and distribution to partners.
3.ย ย ย ย In close coordination with Communications Department and TRD/DS project officers, produce regular communication materials, including human stories, for public consumption.
4.ย ย ย ย Participate in the planning and organization of events and trainings/workshops related to the TRD/DS programs, in coordination with the government and international partners both in Addis Ababa and in the regions.
5.ย ย ย ย Assist ย in launching new projects with information materials, invitations to participants, and produce reports of the occasions. Also ensure that appropriate visibility is enhanced, and donor representations and logos are well inscribed and printed.
6.ย ย ย ย Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process, and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
7.ย ย ย ย Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest remedial actions.
8.ย ย ย ย Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentation, and other forms of documentation.ย
9.ย ย ย ย Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records; organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions.ย
10.ย ย ย ย Participate in meetings and conferences; assist in coordinating implementation activities with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors, and other stakeholders relevant to the project. ย
11.ย ย ย ย Assist in monitoring work of implementing partners and report non-compliances to the supervisor.
12.ย ย ย ย Provide guidance/training to new/junior staff.ย
13.ย ย ย ย Perform other related duties as assigned.
ย
Education
โข ย ย ย ย School diploma with five years of relevant experience; or,
โข ย ย ย ย Bachelorโs degree in political or social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience.

โข ย ย ย ย Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
โข ย ย ย ย Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
โข ย ย ย ย Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.ย

โข ย ย ย ย In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization; and,
โข ย ย ย ย Skills on reporting, developing communication materials, donor briefings
โข ย ย ย ย Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.
