Work LocationRemote Expected duration12 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe consultant will serve as the Product Owner for the Plume Viewer, the visualization interface of MARS, and will be responsible for guiding its strategic development, ensuring it meets user needs, and enabling actionable insights into methane emissions. The role is central to translating stakeholder feedback and scientific data into functional features, maintaining an agile product roadmap, and coordinating with development teams to deliver a scalable, user-friendly tool that supports IMEOโs broader methane transparency and response goals. The consultant will report to the Acting Head, International Methane Emissions Observatory, Programme Management Officer, Climate Change Division, UNEP. Qualifications/special skillsBachelorโs degree, Masterโs preferred, in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Communications or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within an Agile/Scrum environment. Proficiency with Agile product management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps. Strong understanding of data processing and related workflows Experience with AI product management workflows is a plus. Familiarity with the infrastructure and operational context of oil & gas assets and coal mines is a plus. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
