Field of Expertise Requirements
The general minimum requirements for working in this field of expertise are:
University education in international studies, public policy, political science or law or related fields; Diplomatic experience or experience working in political affairs with international organizations or governments; Experience in preparing analytical reports; Excellent communication and drafting skills; Knowledge of regional political history and developments; Diplomatic and negotiating skills; Some knowledge of the OSCE principles and commitments.
Level of Professional Competence Requirements

A first-level university degree. Advanced education in a relevant field desirable.

Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of the Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe and direction of the Deputy Head of the Office, the Political Officer will be tasked with the following duties:
Managing all aspects of the Officeโs (internal and external) reporting, including compilation, drafting or clearance of speeches and talking points of the Head and Deputy Head of Office; Monitoring and reports on the political situation in the country where relevant to the Officeโs programmatic planning; Providing analysis of current affairs and political developments; Advising and supporting the Office's activities on political dialogues concerning all aspects of security; Establishing and maintaining contacts with members of the parliament, government officials, political parties, local authorities, non-governmental organization (NGO's) and research institutions; Assisting in arranging OSCE regional events, inter alia regional seminars and visits to the area by OSCE delegations, as well as other events with OSCE participation.For more detailed information on the structure and work of the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe, please see: https://www.osce.org/programme-office-in-dushanbe
