Terms of ReferenceUNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is offering a full-time internship at UNHCR Ankara Country Office for 6 months.

Established in December 1950, UNHCR is a global organization dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for asylum seekers, refugees, returnees, internally displaced communities and stateless people. Every year, millions of men, women and children are forced to flee their homes to escape conflict and persecution. UNHCR currently operates in over 130 countries, using its long expertise to protect and care for millions.

The Registration Team within Policy Development Unit supports UNHCR's efforts in ensuring equitable and efficient access to registration and protection services for persons of concern across Tรผrkiye. This involves close collaboration with governmental stakeholders, NGOs, field units, analyzing registration trends, and identifying gaps to enhance procedures. The Unit is also instrumental in individual case management, addressing complex issues such as documentation, access to registration, and administrative processes. Through capacity-building initiatives, including training and workshops, the team works to strengthen the operational capacities of PMM and PDMMs in access to registration and documentation.

PDU Intern will support the Policy Development Unit in a range of administrative and programmatic activities. Responsibilities include clerical tasks, coordinating and following up on training implementation, monitoring and analyzing statistical data, and managing translations of documents between English and Turkish. Additionally, the Intern will collaborate with other units to ensure seamless communication and contribute to the Registration Team's operational needs.

This position offers the intern an opportunity to enhance their professional and organizational skills while gaining hands-on experience in policy development, data analysis, and inter-unit collaboration. 2. Assist the Unit in follow up of the regular charts/reports with regards to activity monitoring.

3. Regularly monitor PMM/PDMM website to track updates and announcements with regards to national registration procedures.

4. Assist the Unit in drafting regular and ad-hoc reports as well as analysis related to access to registration and identification and prioritization of persons with specific needs.
5. Produce graphs, tables, charts and maps on different registration practices observed in the field including population and backlog figures and procedures.
6. Participate in meetings, workshops, trainings, take notes and draft minutes / reports.
