Result of ServiceDigital submission of the Passive Cooling Guidelines - Design and Operation of Passive Cooling Strategies. This consists of 50+ pages, including descriptions and illustrations in English. Work LocationHome-based Expected duration5 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe purpose of the assignment is to support the development of passive cooling guidelines for the hot and tropical built environment to support policy-makers in developing or updating their building energy code to incorporate passive cooling strategies and design professionals (architects, engineers, developers, contractors, manufacturers) to implement the strategies appropriately on the ground. The contents should focus on the strategies of design, construction and operation of passive cooling to ensure that passive solutions need to be addressed throughout all the building phases to effectively benefit in terms of energy-efficiency and electricity cost reduction as well as providing permanent thermal comfort. The consultant will work in close collaboration with UNEP/Cool Coalition and Passive Cooling Working Group. In the process of the development, the consultant is expected to go through the consultation with other experts on passive cooling from across the world to enhance the contents, which could be delivered via the Passive Cooling Working Group. The breadth and quality of work will be monitored and supervised by the project manager (UNEP/Cool Coalition), and frequent reporting of the progress of the work needs to be made to ensure that project meets the agreed timeline.
