The IFCโs South Asia Department is looking to recruit an Operations Analyst for its Sri Lanka and Maldives Office. The Operations Analyst will be responsible for assisting with research, analytics, operational work, and resource support primarily for the Country Manager (Sri Lanka and Maldives). He/ she will also be responsible for coordinating work between Managers, the Management Team, and the Strategy unit for the region.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Operations Analyst will be responsible for the following:
โขย Support the Country Manager and County Management Unit in the management of country program delivery for Sri Lanka and Maldives.โขย He/she will be the โgo-toโ person for data and research and all operational/ resource support work for and from the region that will be initiated by the Country Manager.โขย Extracting data on Sri Lanka & The Maldives from internal and external databases, review and present the data in a variety of formats for various audiences to a high degree of accuracy and consistency.โขย Prepare relevant strategy briefs, working papers, presentations, and material for internal and external clients, in close collaboration with the Country Management Unit and other relevant industry teams.โขย Prepare analysis of business performance and monitor/update the pipeline of current and upcoming projects to update the management as needed.โขย Review and screening of relevant documents/reports for consistency with country strategies.โขย Assist in organizing webinars, roundtables, and conferences and contribute to preparations for IFC key events and partner meetings, such as the Spring and Annual WBG meetings.ย โขย Support meetings with companies, high-level government counterparts, DFIs, and other stakeholders, and follow-ups by preparing briefing material; writing meeting notes; drafting correspondence, and assisting in the implementation of action points.โขย Liaise and interact effectively with an extensive network of contacts, at senior levels (both internal and external), and respond effectively to inquiries and to diverse situations that require tact and pragmatic problem-solving skills. Must have a good network of contacts, both with government stakeholders and the business community at large.โขย Assist the Country Manager with overall project management, planning, and monitoring of deliverables to ensure timely and quality delivery of the work program.โขย Portfolio monitoring and internal and external reporting. Provide any other assistance needed by the Country Manager for the day-to-day coordination of activities.โขย Help support pipeline development across all industry groups by providing industry contextual data, company analysis, due diligence, comparator analysis, industry research, etc.โขย Maintain a good working knowledge of current advisory and investment operations in Sri Lanka and The Maldives and respond to queries.โขย Construct and maintain reports to analyze and report on operational and development impact performance of Sri Lanka and Maldives.โขย Prepare presentations and reports to present information and analysis to various audiences.โขย Conduct research, analysis, and compile information from HQ sources for the benefit of field-based management teams.โขย Provide research and analytical support towards work products produced and on various assignments.โขย Support department-wide initiatives to improve systems and project delivery.
Selection Criteria
โขย Undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, Business or similar, Mastersโ Degree preferred.โขย 2-3 years work experience in banking, consulting, or another fast-paced, knowledge-based work environment.โขย Advanced user-level proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word is a must.โขย Ability to demonstrate attention to detail, thoughtful scenario analysis, and diligence in the quality of oneโs work.โขย Possess excellent written communication skills including presentations, briefs, memos, etc.ย โขย Utilize graphics and tables to effectively and creatively present data.โขย Demonstrate active listening skills by being attentive and listening to others to identify client and stakeholder needs.โขย Demonstrate diplomacy and responsiveness in interactions with others.โขย Ability to maintain confidentiality, and have a high level of discretion and professionalism.โขย Write in a logical and comprehensive, yet concise manner.โขย Distill and summarize large amounts of information from various sources to prepare business documents and presentations.โขย Maintain a good working knowledge of current advisory and investment operations and respond quickly to queries from HQ management and staff.โขย Team player with good problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to execute tasks timely and effectively.โขย Organizational and communications skills.โขย Strong command of English (written and verbal) is a must. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
