Location: Maiduguri, NigeriaSOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, since more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI's interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in some twenty countries, the SI teams โ 2500 people in total, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at HQ, and a few volunteers - intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultural norms.
About the mission
Solidaritรฉs International launched its operation in Nigeria in 2016 because of the humanitarian needs of displaced populations and host communities caused by the current crisis with conflict and the ongoing violence in the North-East of Nigeria led by Armed Opposition Groups since 2009. The security situation and epidemics/outbreaks continue to affect millions of lives in Northeastern and Northwestern parts of Nigeria. As of June 2022, according to IOM Displacement Tracking Matrix, an estimated 2.2 million people are displaced within North-east States, and several areas where IDPs are, remain inaccessible to humanitarian actors; in North West, over according to IOM, over 600,000 people are displaced due to attacks on civilians by bandit groups, inter-ethnic clashes, and farmer-herder clashes.
The targeted sectors of intervention are WASH, Shelter, RRM, Food Security & Livelihoods, and Nutrition, Health, Protection (through partnerships). The annual budget of the mission is around 8 million euros in 2023.
The mission is organized with a coordination office in Maiduguri and 2 bases located in Ngala and Monguno managed remotely from Maiduguri for the North-East. In the North-West, Solidarites International is conducting activities in Gusau, Anka and Taleta in Zamfara State, with bases in Gusau and Anka. Abuja is the representative office for the Nigeria mission.

About the job
General objectives:
- The Logistics Coordinator pilots logistics activities of the mission to ensure the smooth running of SI programs in the country.
Specific stakes and challenges:
Logistic management capacity. Limited presence in the field for senior staff. The logistics coordinator will have to participate in designing a logistic strategy (HR/processโฆ.) to ensure compliance of logistic process within a restricted access constraint. Participate to risk mitigation analysis along with Country Director, Field Coordinators and Security Coordinator to set up efficient mitigation measures (tools, processโฆ) at field level (infrastructure, telecom, contingency planโฆ.) Empower the inter-department coordination/communication (with program, financeโฆ.) at each level (base, coordinationโฆ.) to generate/increase global understanding of the mission and of challenges in the different departments.
Priorities for the 2/3 first months:

Technical skills and knowledge:
Very good command of logistics procedures. Problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to assess challenges and recommend solutions. Strong management, training/capacity-building skills. Computer literacy with very good command of MS Office Suite and especially high proficiency in Excel to handle and develops auditing tools with the headquarters.Soft skills and spirit:
Respect for safety/security rules. Stress management skills: the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, with peaks of heavy workload. A salaried post:
According to experience, starting from 2860 euros gross per month (base salary EUR 2600 + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of 600 USD.
SOLIDARITรS INTERNATIONAL also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment.
Social and medical cover: Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which reimburses all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.
Breaks: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every 3 months. For a one-year assignment, the expatriate will have a 7 working days break at 3, 6 and 9 months (with USD 850 allocated by SI). In addition to these, SI adds 1 additional rest day per month of work, i.e. 12 additional days off for a one-year contract.
