Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in Tรผrkiye and direct supervision of the Program Officer (Protection); and, in collaboration with National Program Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for the coordination of the assisted voluntary return and reintegration program (AVRR) in IOM Tรผrkiye. ย
- Assist in the coordination and monitoring of the operational, administrative and financial aspects of the project in accordance with IOM policies and practices as well as donorโs requirements.
- Keep the supervisor informed on the status of project implementation; identify gaps and suggest actions to improve implementation.ย
- Participate in the development and adjustment of work plans, project budgets, Monitoring & Evaluation tools and standard operations procedures.ย
- Coordinate the collection, verification and analysis of data and background information; update information management systems and social media platforms on project related activities including project awareness and visibility, summaries, press releases and other relevant materials.
- Coordinate timely preparation and dissemination of project reports in accordance with IOM procedures and donor requirements.ย
- Liaise and coordinate with donors, partners, United Nations agencies, local authorities and stakeholders and government counterparts.ย
- Contribute to the planning, development, organization and delivery of capacity building activities targeting IOM staff, government and civil society partners, implementing partners and communities.ย ย
- Attend relevant conferences, workshops, working groups, interagency coordination meetings, and other forumsย
- Participate in the preparation of project proposals and a diverse range of communication products, concept notes and other planning documents
- Supervise and provide training and technical guidance to project staff.
- Undertake duty travel relating to project implementation, monitoring visits, project assessments, liaison with counterparts, etc.ย
- Perform other related duties as required.ย Education
- Bachelorโs degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or,
- Masterโs degree in the above-mentioned fields Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. ย Experience
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;ย
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
- Experience in the fields of protection, counter-trafficking, child protection, return and reintegration, gender-based violence, and/or humanitarian affairs;
- Experience in community-based protection and assistance services;
- Ability to organize work, work independently and prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks, maintain attention to detail, and coordination with a variety of stakeholders. Skills
- In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization; and,
- Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.
- Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.
- Knowledge and understanding of human rights and rights protection;
- Understanding of human behaviour and well-being, including coping patterns, emotional resilience, and physical and mental health and well-being.
- Knowledge of mainstreaming best practices and partnership models to ensure coordination of the same across a diversified range of actors;
- Good knowledge of community-based protection, including understanding of the communityโs role, structure and practices, including the communityโs social, cultural and gender norms within the operation;
- Knowledge of the national protection systems, including roles of different actors, and processes for protection;
- Good inter-personal skills, and the ability to work well with and meet the needs of individuals of different ages, nationalities, genders, and diversities.
- Ability to provide trauma-informed and age, gender, and diversity appropriate care.
- Good analytical and report writing skills.
- Ability to work with and maintain strict confidentiality, when necessary. Languages
- Fluency in English and Turkish (oral and written)
- Working knowledge of languages spoken by migrants in Tรผrkiye is an asset IOMโs official languages are English, French and Spanish.
