Background about BUCRA Project:

Burden of Childcare Reduced and Addressed for Women in Jordan (BUCRA - meaning Tomorrow in Arabic) is a 5-year initiative (2024-2029) funded by Global Affairs Canada and designed to enhance the economic empowerment of women in Jordan. BUCRA takes a systems approach that engages and supports local stakeholders from government, training bodies, the private sector and communities to drive gender-transformative change that addresses the most pressing childcare issues preventing women from participating in the workforce in Jordan. BUCRA targets over 8,600 women in 7 regions. The approach of equipping key stakeholders to address systemic barriers will enable the impacts to be experienced by women throughout Jordan over the long term. In partnership with several local implementing partners including relevant government agencies, VTCs and civil society organizations (NCFA and Sadaqa). WUSC and partners will deliver under five key outcome areas: i) enhance the capacity of training providers to provide quality, market-relevant, and inclusive ECCD training; ii) increase access by women to ECCD-related services to secure employment or start/expand their home-based nurseries; iii) improve capacity of key stakeholders to develop and implement gender-responsive policy and regulation fostering the availability of quality ECCD services; iv) improve attitudes among women and their communities about women's work and ECCD; and v) enhance the capacity of ECCD employers to provide quality, gender-responsive and inclusive ECCD services.

The M&E Intern will be responsible for the monitoring and evaluation activities for the BUCRA project, under the MEL Specialistโ€™s direction. His/Her roles and responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the monitoring, evaluation and learning efforts are integrated into evidence based project activities in collaboration with the MEL Specialist and the BUCRA technical team;
  • Ensure aggregation, cleaning and exploitation of Monitoring and Evaluation data from field activities and correct entry in the system;
  • Assist in the revision of the projectโ€™s outcome/output reporting worksheets and the performance measurement framework (PMF) and share regular updates. (Results: Actuals versus Targets, Timeline: Actuals versus Scheduled);
  • Assist in updating the outcome/outputs reporting worksheets, BUCRA project Summary sheet on a regular basis;
  • Assist in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data;
  • Support the monitoring of project activities to ensure they are on track and meeting objectives;
  • Participate in field visits to monitor the progress of projects if necessary;
  • Share with the BUCRA technical team the necessary M&E tools for each implemented activity, and ensure that attendance sheets, pre- and post-surveys, and other tools are shared in a timely manner;
  • Follow up with the BUCRA technical team to share the activity reports that are being written after each implemented activity for documentation purposes;
  • Assist in report writing and ensure high-quality representation of results and that they are aligned with the project indicators (with evidence-based results);
  • Attended MERL community of practice meetings on a monthly basis and the check-in meetings with the HQ MERL advisor on a weekly basis;
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all data collected;
  • Ensure proper documentation of all processes and findings;
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Country Director and the MEL Specialist.

Education:

Bachelorโ€™s degree in Statistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, International Development and/or any other relevant field.

Experience:

  • A Minimum of one relevant year of professional experience in the field of expertise and experience in monitoring and evaluation systems
  • Commitment to gender equality, youth inclusion, and international volunteering
  • Flexibility, adaptability, excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
  • Knowledge in data analysis
  • Experience with group facilitation and trainings, including content development is an asset
  • Professional experience working or volunteering in the Middle East is an asset

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a full-time job position.
  • Working hours and days are Sunday till Thursday, 8:00/8:30 A.M. โ€“ 4:00/4:30 P.M. with the possibility of working for extra hours in case any event is taking place.
