Work LocationAden and Sana'a Expected duration3 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesBackground: The 2 positions will be located in the United Nations Resident Coordinatorโ€™s office for Yemen in Sanaโ€™a and Aden to support the strategic reset of mine action operations in Yemen. Duties and Responsibilities: โ€ข Facilitate and support coordination and liaison with national and international mine action stakeholders, including authorities, international organizations, and donors. โ€ข Facilitate and support coordination with relevant UN agencies, INGOs and Local NGOs to ensure complementarity and synergies among mine action related interventions. โ€ข Support the planning, quality management and implementation of field visits, meetings, and workshops. โ€ข Support information management, including Mine Action information management, documentation of meeting minutes, key decisions, and actions. โ€ข Support monitoring and evaluation, including the documentation of lessons learned and major outcomes. โ€ข Support briefings to donors, and reporting. โ€ข Support resource mobilization efforts. โ€ข Translate documents as necessary from English to Arabic and vice versa. โ€ข Support in interpretation during meetings with local authorities and local communities. โ€ข Perform any other duties, as necessary. Qualifications/special skillsA first level university degree in business or public administration, or any other related area. All candidates must submit a copy of the required educational degree. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. A minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in the mine action sector in Yemen is required. A minimum of 3 years of professional work experience in programme or project management is required. A minimum of 3 years of direct experience in engaging and influencing government officials in a complex humanitarian setting is desirable. Experience in resource mobilization is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA. For this position, fluency in oral and written English is required. Fluency in oral and written and Arabic is required.
