    The Management Services Officer supports the delivery of high-quality, client-focused, and cost-effective services that enable WFP to implement its food assistance programmes efficiently. The role ensures optimal management of resources, infrastructure, logistics, and support staff, while maintaining compliance with WFP standards.

    ABOUT MANAGEMENT SERVICES AT WFP

    Burkina Faso is actively committed to strengthening food security, managing internal displacement, and adapting to the effects of climate change. In this context, the World Food Programme (WFP) supports national efforts by providing targeted food assistance, enhancing the resilience of vulnerable communities, and strengthening institutional capacities.

    To ensure the effectiveness of its operations, WFP seeks to reinforce its management services through the recruitment of a Management Services Officer (NOA) based in Ouagadougou. This position is based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso and reports to Head of Unit. This position is crucial for ensuring optimal management of resources, infrastructure, logistics, and support staff, while maintaining compliance with WFP standards and procedures.

    The incumbent will contribute to the implementation of WFP programmes by ensuring a functional, safe, and efficient working environment in support of operational teams and partners.

    THE ROLE

    To provide support to the delivery of high quality, client-focused, and value for money services pertaining to the Management Services portfolio that enable WFP to deliver food assistance to beneficiaries, in line with WFPโ€™s strategy.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, within delegated authority):

    1. Assist with the preparation of Management Services components of WFPโ€™s Country Strategic Planning (CSP) and Resource Planning aligned with country and wider WFPโ€™s strategies and policies to facilitate efficient and effective service delivery.

    2. Support preparation of functional annual plans and implementation of policies, procedures, processes, standards, and systems to support WFPโ€™s strategic objectives.

    3. Collate data and prepare basic analysis to support efficient planning and decision-making.

    4. Assist in the identification of requirements pertaining to resources aiming at efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timeliness of operations and services.

    5. Maintain working relationships with WFPโ€™s internal and external stakeholders, other UN agencies and government entities ensuring relevant exchange of data and identifying areas of potential improved alignment of operations and cooperation.

    6. Provide suggestions for improvements to services and facilities related to Occupational Safety and Health (OSH).

    7. Support a culture of environmental sustainability by role modelling actions that drive sustainability in all activities.

    8. Utilise digital tools and applications to their fullest potential collaborating with technical experts to effectively adopt innovative technologies, thereby enhancing operational workflows and customer service.

    9. Assist with the preparation and implementation of UN Reform related inter-agency initiatives to achieve cost savings and enhance service quality.

    10. Support field missions by documenting issues/gaps and proposing solutions in the relevant services or products of responsibility.

    11. Support the organisation and design of learning initiatives to build capacity of WFP staff and partners to improve their understanding of Management Services regulations, policies, procedures, processes, standards, and systems.

    12. Follow standard emergency preparedness and response practices to support WFP to quickly deploy the needed resources to affected areas.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    Education : Advanced University degree in Business/Public Administration, Engineering, or other relevant field relating to office management and administration, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.
