    This position, Logistics Officer - Emergency Preparedness and Response for Supply Chain is based in N'djamena, Chad and reports to Head of Supply Chain or the designate.

    THE ROLE

    The National Officer (NOA) will play a critical role in strengthening Chadโ€™s humanitarian supply chain systems and reinforcing the resilience of food systems to respond to emergencies effectively. This position will involve the development, design, and implementation of strategic plans for emergency preparedness and response (EPR), as well as the capacity to lead and support multi-stakeholder efforts, including government authorities and humanitarian partners, to optimize supply chain and logistics systems.
    The incumbent will ensure a robust framework is in place to enhance the countryโ€™s emergency preparedness and food system resilience while integrating Chadโ€™s specific contextual needs and challenges into actionable strategies.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, within delegated authority):

    Under the direct supervision of the Head of Supply Chain, the National Officer will undertake the following responsibilities:

    1. Strategic Planning and Design

    • Develop and implement comprehensive emergency supply chain preparedness and response strategies tailored to Chadโ€™s unique humanitarian context, with a focus on reinforcing the humanitarian supply chain and food systems resilience.
    • Collaborate with national and regional stakeholders to design integrated supply chain and logistics systems that enhance disaster response and recovery efforts.
    • Conduct scenario planning and risk assessments to ensure robust contingency plans are in place for rapid-onset emergencies.
    • Support the institutionalization of supply chain EPR plans within national and regional disaster management frameworks.
