UNOPS Amman Multi-Country Office (AMMMCO)
The UNOPS Hub in Amman implements projects on behalf of UN agencies and bilateral donors and in close coordination with the Government and national authorities. With an established presence across the region (Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen), the office runs operations including large-scale procurement, project development and technical management, and provides financial, human resources and infrastructure-related services.
The functional objective of UNOPS Hub in Amman is to deliver its projects in an efficient and effective manner and in line with the principles, rules and regulations of UNOPS, to achieve the outcomes sought by the clients.
The incumbent is responsible to abide by security policies, administrative instructions, plans and procedures of the UN Security Management System and that of UNOPS.

Project Information
The incumbent will work on a large-scale procurement project which will include the procurement of furniture, equipment, vehicles, IT equipment and other services for the health, education, tourism and public finance sectors in Jordan. The 5-year project is expected to increase the capacity and commitment of the Government of Jordan to boost health outcomes of families and communities, improve learning outcomes for school-aged children, and enhance the preservation and protection of the primary protected areas and heritage sites in Jordan. The team consists of around 5-7 full-time personnel as well as part time consultants who will support the delivery of this project. Under the direct supervision of the Senior Project Manager, the Logistics Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective coordination and delivery of project supplies and equipment, aligned with UNOPS and USAID standards. The Logistics Assistant will oversee logistical planning, inventory management, documentation, and compliance across multiple sites, including schools, hospitals, and government facilities, to support successful project implementation. The Logistics Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Logistical Coordination
Coordinate the delivery, storage, and distribution of project equipment and supplies across the designated sites, including schools, hospitals, and government facilities.
Support in planning and managing logistical arrangements for the delivery and installation of equipment and furniture.
Provide support to the Senior Project Manager and the team in facilitating the necessary clearances and handover of furniture and equipment delivered to the different facilities.
Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and partners to ensure that delivery schedules are adhered to and that equipment reaches its destination safely and on time.
Facilitate inspections and verifications of delivered items, coordinating closely with project stakeholders to address any delivery issues or discrepancies.
2. Inventory and Asset Management
Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, tracking all incoming and outgoing equipment and supplies.
Regularly update inventory databases to ensure that stock levels are well-documented and align with project requirements.
Conduct physical verification of inventory at various storage facilities to ensure accurate tracking and availability of assets.
Report any discrepancies or damaged items immediately to the Senior Project Manager to resolve issues promptly.
3. Documentation and Reporting
Document all logistics-related activities, including receipt and inspection records, inventory updates, and delivery reports.
Prepare regular progress reports, summarizing key logistical actions, challenges, and solutions, to support project monitoring and reporting requirements.
Assist in updating procurement and logistics tracking sheets, ensuring timely and accurate record-keeping.
Maintain comprehensive and organized records, both digitally and in hard copy, to comply with UNOPS and donor audit requirements.
4. Compliance and Quality Assurance
Ensure that all logistics activities adhere to UNOPS and USAID standards and guidelines, particularly concerning health, safety, and environmental practices.
Conduct quality checks on items delivered to verify compliance with project specifications and UNOPS standards.
Ensure that suppliers adhere to UNOPS health and safety standards during delivery and installation processes.
Provide regular feedback to the Senior Project Manager on the quality and timeliness of logistics services and recommend improvements when needed.

The Logistics Assistant will directly impact the successful implementation of the Equipment for Jordan (E4J) Activity by ensuring efficient and accurate logistical operations. Education
Completion of secondary school is required .
'A bachelor's degree can substitute for some of the required years of experience'
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of experience with general administration, supply chain management, logistics and asset management is required
Proficiency in computers and experience in handling web-based management systems is required.
Experience working in an international organization is desirable.
Experience in use of Enterprise systems is desirable.
Language Requirement:
Fluency in English (speak, read, and write) is required.
Fluency in Arabic (speak, read, and write) is required

For retainer contracts, you must complete a few mandatory courses ( they take around 4 hours to complete) in your own time, before providing services to UNOPS.
