The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is an independent humanitarian organisation. Role and responsibilities

The purpose of the project Project Officer position is to assist in the day-to-day implementation of the Sida Activities in Bor South Sudan.

Generic responsibilities (max 10)

These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the casual workerโ€™s services agreement.ย 

Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines. Assist with the implementation of the Programme portfolio according to plan of action Prepare and develop status reports as required by management Ensure proper filing of documentsย  Promote and share ideas for improvement of the Programme function

Specific responsibilitiesย 

These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus, and type of programme intervention.ย 

Conduct grass root beneficiariesโ€™ mobilization and registration in the project sitesย  Participate in the identification of the capacity needs of the farmers organizations (cooperatives and groups) supported by the project. Collect and submit weekly or monthly report. Prepare and organize project activities such as trainings, strengthening capacity of farmersโ€™ organizations, radio programs, awareness campaigns on post-harvest handling and gender issues. Plan for projectโ€™s day-to-day activities as indicated in the projects documents and assigned by the LFS Coordinator. Keep all files and documents of the organization for the field activities to be used for reporting.ย  Coordinate with the local authorities and the groupโ€™s members ensuring transparent project implementation. Responsible for all the activities undertaking in the demonstration gardens by the extension workers and the farmers groups. Liaise with stakeholders, community leaders and PMCs in the project implementation such as in beneficiariesโ€™ identifications, registration, and awareness. Organize and provide trainings to farmers and the groups in all agricultural aspects (CSA, CA, VA, VSLA, agro-forestry, market linkages and others). Establish, train, mentor and follow up the VSLA for women, farmers and youths groups throughout the project life. Any other duties identified by supervisor.
