Job Description

Your responsibilities

Within CERN's Knowledge Transfer (KT) Group, you will be responsible for the implementation of the \"Innovation, technology transfer, industry relation\" activities of the HITRIplus consortium, funded by the European Commission to develop innovative technologies for next-generation ion therapy facilities.

You will join the Medical Applications Strategy Support team of the KT group, where you will:

- Build a complete picture of the innovations being developed in HITRIplus, by interacting with the scientists from the consortium partners in charge of the technology developments; - Help advise on IP matters, including patenting opportunities;
- evaluate the feasibility and optimal routes for technology transfer;
- identify and liaise with the key industry players in the corresponding markets for the various technologies;
- provide a list of follow-up actions and recommendations;
- support technology promotion, in particular by developing \"Value propositions\" text and visual material highlighting the benefits of the technologies developed and the competitive advantage they have over what is already existing on the market;
- Contribute to the organisation of an ad-hoc \"HITRIplus meets industry\" event, to foster the adoption of the HITRIplus innovations by companies and entrepreneur;
- actively follow-up the progress of a number of CERN ion therapy-related projects by liaising with the technical project leaders, manage the KT aspects of these projects (such as Intellectual Property, dissemination);

Your profile

Skills and/or knowledge

Knowledge of and experience with detectors, accelerators, or engineering;Ability to grasp the essential information about complex technologies and to understand their applicability to fields outside particle physics, especially in the medical domain;Ability to follow complex projects with many stakeholders internally and externally;Excellent communication and organisational skills;Ability in prioritising and independently executing tasks;Fluent in English (written and spoken), with excellent report writing skills.

Eligibility criteria:

You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.You have a professional background in engineering or physics (or a related field) and have either: a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.You have never had a fellow or graduate contract before.
