The USAID-funded Famine Early Warning Systems (FEWS NET) Strategic Planning and Activity Design (SPADe) Support project, a global activity implemented by Tetra Tech International Development (International Development Jobs - Tetra Tech), is currently accepting expressions of interest for a Knowledge Management Advisor position. This position can be fully remote from a continental US-based location or hybrid within a commutable distance to either one of our office locations in Burlington, VT or Arlington, VA.
Position Description: The Knowledge Management Advisor will use best practices to create information management plans, document lessons learned, and organize activity information from diverse databases and multiple sources. The advisor will support activities in all project countries. This is a full-time position, through 7 April 2026.
Responsibilities:
* Manage, monitor, and implement and SPADe TO KM plan;
* Prepare KM plans and strategies to meet work assignment needs, including audience analyses, dissemination plans, and associated learning activities;
* Identify appropriate operational policies (e.g., USAID Knowledge Management and Organizational Learning Policy), actions, and approaches to strengthen the information management systems of the SPADe TO;
* Facilitate knowledge capture, generation, sharing, and exchange in accordance with the priorities of the SPADe KM plan and learning agenda;
* Collaborate with the COP in the development of the SPADe project learning agenda and support its subsequent implementation;
* Implement knowledge management solutions for information management, operational processes, and other knowledge and learning functions for the project and specific work assignments;
* Maintain the projectโs file management system(s), intranet, and dashboard(s) for coordination with USAID;
* Support addressing the knowledge needs of the project by researching, synthesizing, packaging, and disseminating key information and learning;
* Provide ongoing organization, management, and sharing of knowledge and learning developed by the project, including lessons learned, best practices, challenges, how-to information, and information on reach and impact;
* Identify and implement appropriate internal communication activities and programs to promote efficient and effective knowledge management best practices, including as examples, academic citation management, workflow process tools, and efficient platforms for internal and external coordination;
* Serve as work assignment team lead as assigned;
* Proactively identify opportunities for KM capacity building to promote effective KM for project staff and implementation teams. This may include preparing guides, standard operating procedures and training.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
* Masterโs degree in a related subject matter area;
* Minimum 4 years of progressively responsible work experience in the international humanitarian and/or development sectors;
* Minimum 1 year of international field-based work experience preferred;
* Advanced skills in information management, learning methods, knowledge-sharing systems, and communications strategies to promote project learning;
* Demonstrated experience supporting multiple ongoing activities and managing deadlines;
* Experience working on humanitarian and/or development food security programming preferred;
* Familiarity with USAID and USAID KMOL practices preferred;
* Experience using Microsoft SharePoint and Teams, Salesforce, citation management programs, and other related programs preferred;
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic is preferred;
Ability and willingness to travel internationally 10-15% of the time.
