Properties

Ensure adherence of IT solutions with security standards, policies and best practises and reporting any compliance discrepancies, vulnerabilities and/or threats. Test and inspect the security of IT solutions on a regular basis, including dynamic (live) testing, code analysis, and quality assurance processes such as technical integration tests, performance tests, and code reviews. Configure and manage CF's development tools and quality control platforms, including tools for software configuration management, build management, code analysis, automated functional and performance tests (see โ€œTechnical competenciesโ€ below). Identify opportunities to improve developer productivity and enhance the efficiency of software delivery operations, while exploring and interfacing with external partners/suppliers on new tools, including cloud-based or on-premises development tools, databases, and middleware. Participate in incident and problem management processes, and identify architectural, design, and procedural changes to prevent future incidents. Contribute to the development, review and maintenance of technical documentation (i.e. standards, processes, etc). Stay updated on latest technological developments/methods/best practises/trends and share them within the internal community to enhance organisational knowledge. Carry out any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

Completed university studies of at least 4 years in a relevant domain (e.g., Engineering, IT) In addition to the above, minimum 2 years of relevant working experience. Experience in designing IT applications down to the database and middleware layers (including a good understanding of the interactions with the network and the operating system), and in documenting architecture and design models, preferably in UML. Experience or knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, application server platforms (JEE application servers, microservices frameworks), Java development language, container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of Linux and shell scripting (bash, ksh) would be an asset. Knowledge in application performance analysis. Knowledge in application and middleware security, including encryption methods, secure protocols and data protection. Knowledge of the following products is an asset: WebLogic Server, Helidon, Apache Solr, Nexus, SonarQube, Jenkins, Gravitee, Apache httpd, Oracle DB, MongoDB, Kafka, Eclipse. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular job, candidates must be proficient users of English at level C1. The selected candidate will be required to become a basic user of French at level A1 before the end of the probation period. A higher level of proficiency in French would be an asset. The levels relate to the European-framework-reference Common European Framework of References for languages (CEFR).

The selected candidate will be offered a contract for a duration of five (5) years in accordance with the provisions of the Conditions of Employment of Contract Staff at EUROCONTROL. This contract may be renewed for a total duration of up to nine (9) years, or it may be converted into an undetermined contract. The selected candidate must successfully complete a probationary period of nine (9) months before being established in the post. The successful candidate shall be engaged in principle at the basic grade of the advertised grades. Candidates declared suitable who are not selected for the post will be placed on a reserve list for similar roles. The reserve list will be valid for one year from the closing date of applications.
