The Organizational Setting

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) sets international Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) for aviation safety, air navigation, security and environmental protection. ย The Regional Office is primarily responsible for maintaining continuous liaison with the States to which it is accredited and with appropriate international organizations, regional civil aviation bodies, sub-regional bodies and UN Agencies and programmes. In addition, the Regional Office ensures interregional coordination and promotes the timely and harmonized implementation of ICAO policies, decisions, Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) and air navigation plans. The Regional Office also provides technical guidance and assists States/Territories in their implementation activities.ย Within this framework, Communications, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) Section coordinates all matters pertaining to CNS and the safety of aircraft operations for Asia and Pacific (APAC) Region.

The Intern will report to the Regional Officer/Air Navigation Systems (CNS) Implementation, who will assign tasks and decide on priorities. S/he will support the collection, validation and analysis of multiple types of data and informationย related to the implementation of ICAO provisionsย alongย withย the development of Performance Dashboards to give an overallย and individual statesโ€™ย operational overview of regional implementation status of GANP, APAC e-ANP, and Seamless ANS Plan. ย The performance dashboard will be able to analyzeย the number of States fulfilling Key Performance Indictors (KPI) related to specificย ICAOย requirements.ย
