Job Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of Regional CEA Coordinator, the intern will:

Support to coordinate with other thematic and technical colleagues to address community feedback, especially through producing short videos Support the production of the CEA regional newsletter by producing clear written content, following up with CEA focal points to collect lessons learned, best practices and highlights Review and organize CEA documents divided between Teams, Google Drive, Dropbox, and other sources. Support with the coding and updating of community data in the CEA dashboard. Support coordination of CEA roadmap, such as helping to organise online surveys and key informant interviews, review secondary data and support admin support for the roadmap research. Support with any other activities as necessary

Education

We are looking for an advanced student (MA or PhD) in a relevant area such as social science, community engagement, community development, sociology, anthropology, community participation, social work, or equivalent relevant work experience

Experience

Social media video editing skills are strongly desired- at a minimum we are looking for somebody comfortable with digital tools to learn basic video editing skills Experience with social science data is desired Good understanding of gender and diversity issues.

Knowledge, Skills and Languages

Fluent in English and excellent English writing skills are a must Strong analytical writing skills are required Basic research skills (proven experience of desk research is a minimum) Excellent interpersonal, communication and networking skills, able to build relationships with people at all levels of the organization and with external partners and organizations Able to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously, to a high standard and to deadline

Deployment conditions and duration

This is a 4 month internship, that could be extended pending on funding and availability and qualification of the intern. The number of days working from the IFRC office in Kuala Lumpur and remote home-based work will be determined as per the workplan and mutually agreed between the supervisor and the intern. The office policy allows for two days work from home and flexible working hours.
