NRC is looking for an Information, Counselling, and Legal Assistance Adviser to join the Afghanistan mission. The role holder is responsible for contributing to the quality of the implementation of legal aid services through the Information, Counselling, and Legal Assistance programme, and its strategic direction. The Adviser will provide technical support (develop tools and guidelines, provide capacity-building, and identify programmatic opportunities) to Project Managers and teams across Afghanistan.

What You Will Do

Strategyย and proposal development. Project implementation (activities, budget, and project documentation). Technical direction and assurance of high quality of projects. Technical guidance, systematic training, and capacity building through coaching and mentorships. Key learnings extraction and dissemination with relevant stakeholders. Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders.

Bachelorโ€™s degree. Information, Counselling, and Legal Assistance, legal aid, and/or access to justiceย experience position in humanitarian/recovery programming environment for displaced and/or conflict-affected people. Afghanistan displacement and legal context and humanitarian community responseย experience and knowledge. Access to legal identity; housing, land, and property rights; and employment law rights track record. High risk, insecure, opaque, complex, and volatile context exposure. Englishย fluency, both written and verbal. Knowledge of the local language (Dari and Pashto).

What We Offer

Afghanistanย duty station. 12-monthย contract duration (renewable, subjecting to funding and need). 50% travel, approximately. Grade 8ย in NRCโ€™s Salary Scale.
