Launch of the initiative to engage young and emerging evaluators from the region including managing the call for expression of interest Work LocationRemotely Expected duration2 Dec - 7 Mar 2025 Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent is under the direct supervision of the Associate Evaluation Officer, and under the overall supervision of the Chief of Evaluation Unit, Strategy and Programme Management Division (SPMD). The Evaluation Unit at ESCAP is responsible for supporting ESCAP management fulfil its oversight function by ensuring the implementation of the ESCAP evaluation plan in a timely manner and the production of credible and useful evaluation outputs for organizational learning and accountability to member States in accordance with the United Nations secretariat evaluation policy and guidelines and the United Nations Evaluation Group norms and standards. The services of an individual contractor will support the Evaluation Unit in managing its current evaluation activities and facilitate the design and development of new management initiatives to enhance the use of evaluation results and streamline the evaluator roster, including a system for engaging young and emerging evaluation talents from the region. The main responsibilities are described below: Responsibilities: 1. Revamp the evaluation webpage for enhanced user engagement, in line with the ongoing redesign of the UNEG website; the revamped webpage will incorporate evaluation reports and evaluation briefs; 2. Integrate the ESCAP evaluation consultant roster and related documents with SharePoint using Microsoft Lists for better information management and searchability; 3. Support the launch of the initiative to engage young and emerging evaluators from the Asia Pacific region Qualifications/special skills1st level degree in Economics, Business Administration, International relations or related areas. Relevant IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft 365, web-based applications. Experience in evaluation is desirable. LanguagesFluency in English is required.
