As a Standing Committee of CGIARโ€™s System Council, the Assurance Oversight Committee (AOC) provides the System Council with assurance of the completeness and effectiveness of the Internal Audit Function and the independence of external audit functions, a structured reporting line between internal and external auditors and the System Council and oversight system-wide governance, risk management and internal controls. CGIAR is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill a current vacancy for an independent AOC member. Applicants must possess expertise, qualifications, and proven experience at a senior and strategic level in one or more of the following areas:

  • Corporate governance
  • Financial and programmatic performance management
  • Internal audit and risk management
  • Ethics and investigations
  • Complex international public organizations

    In line with good governance practices, independent members shall not have been involved in any capacity with the CGIAR System in the 3 years prior to their appointment date.

    The typical term length of the appointment is 3 years, with an average time commitment of 10-12 working days total (including meetings) per annum. A modest honorarium in accordance with CGIARโ€™s honorarium framework is payable, in addition to support for travel expenses in accordance with the stipulations of the CGIAR System Organizationโ€™s travel and expenses policy. Most meetings are held virtually.
