About this position
We are looking for a professional with extensive experience in communications to support the design and implementation of a communication strategy on fiscal policy and climate action, including the Regional Climate Change Platform of Ministries of Finance, Economy, and Finance.
You will work for the Fiscal Management Division (IFD/FMM), part of the Institutions for Development Department (IFD). This division supports the governments of Latin America and the Caribbean in their efforts to strengthen national and subnational fiscal policy and management to promote economic growth, environmental sustainability and reduce inequality and poverty. You will also work with the Climate Change Division of IDB (CSD/CCS), which supports IDB's divisions and governments in Latin America and the Caribbean by incorporating climate action (decarbonization and climate change resilience) into policies and operations.
What youโll do:
The consultant will support the FMM and CCS technical teams in carrying out communication tasks to position the Bank as a leading entity in fiscal policy and climate change issues. The assignments that the consultant must perform include:
Develop annual communication plans based on the guidelines of the market study and positioning of the IDB on fiscal policy and climate change issues. This task must be carried out in coordination with the Department of Knowledge, Innovation and Communication. Implement the communication and brand positioning strategy of the Regional Climate Change Platform of Ministries of Finance, Economy, and Finance. The strategy will be designed separately by a consultancy. Participate in the production of communication materials in English and Spanish for different audiences that allow for disseminating the relevant initiatives and products developed under IDB's fiscal policy and climate change agenda, applying IDB's brand and communication management strategy. Provide logistical support in the planning, designing, and producing events of the fiscal policy and climate change working group, including those of the Platform. Create basic graphic design and/or audiovisual production pieces aligned with the IDB and Platform brand manual. Conceptualize, edit, optimize, and write content in Spanish and English for communication channels such as social networks, blog entries, brochures, landing pages, audiovisual scripts, social media ads, and emails. Coordinate with the Bank's internal and external communication teams to conceptualize and elaborate communication materials for FMM. Develop presentations for specific audiences incorporating strategic content defined by the CCS and FMM technical team. Provide advice to teams in the preparation of materials and the implementation of dissemination and communication strategies. Prepare performance reports and communication analytics. Transform technical reports into clear and accessible messages to external audiences. Report and follow up on the results framework of the communication strategy of the Platform.

What you'll need
Education: Masterโs degree (or equivalent advanced degree) collective communication, journalism, advertising, audiovisual production, or social sciences or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Experience: A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in designing and implementing communication strategies and logistic production of events Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.Key skills:
Desirable experience in bilateral development assistance agencies and multilateral organizations such as the IDB, and production of content related to public policies Experience in corporate communication. Experience in communication through digital channels, including blog writing, optimization and editing, web analytics, and content marketing. Desirable experience in Search Engine Optimization. Desirable basic-intermediate knowledge of graphic design and audiovisual production.Technical Field:
