IDB Lab Institutional Engagement Officer (Senior Associate)

About this position
The Strategy, Knowledge, and Impact (SKI) unit at IDB Lab supports the development of strategy, connections and knowledge, and impact. As an Institutional Engagement Officer, you will facilitate strategic coordination with the Office of the Presidency (PCY) and the Vice-presidency for Countries (VPC), and provide support in coordinating knowledge, connections, and events led by the unit.
What youโll do:
- Facilitate the flow of strategic information between IDB Lab, PCY, and VPC by preparing briefings on IDB Lab's activities, key priority messages, and its impact in the region.
- Coordinate with IDB Lab's leadership team and staff to ensure that PCY, VPC, including the Country Representatives, have timely and relevant information and material to support and promote IDB Lab's activities and initiatives, and to engage in IDB Lab related conversations with governments and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with the IDB Group Private Sector Coordinators in the region, IDB Labโs portfolio tribe, and IDB Lab country specialists, in the preparation of high-level information and tailored country-specific material related to IDB Labโs portfolio, pipeline, results, and lessons learned.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for synergies and collaboration within the IDB Group and other external shareholders.
- Provide strategic support to the SKI Unit Chief in taking stock of IDB Labโs activities and preparing information and reports for decision-making.
- Support the Chief of SKI in engaging in strategic dialogue with Country Representatives, in regard to country strategiesโ alignment, programming, operations, and other needs.
- Support in the organization of SKI-led open calls for startups, such as the WeXchange Women STEMpreneurs Competition, LAC-Spain Scale-up Program, LAC -Miami Scale-up program, and other relevant initiatives led by the Unit.
- Support outreach and partnership efforts and special assignments, including identifying synergies to scale the impact of IDB Labโs initiatives.
What you'll need
- Education: A master's degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in a relevant discipline, such as economics, business administration, public policy, international development, or social sciences.
- Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience in the development field, preferably in the LAC region, and with a focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and social impact.
- Advanced computer skills, including word processing, Excel, monitoring tools, databases (Airtable is a plus), and CRM tools (Salesforce is a plus). Strong (oral and written) communication and interpersonal skills.
- Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

- International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
