World Vision is seeking a Humanitarian Operations Director for the Gavi RAISE 4 Sahel project which works with partners in the humanitarian space to reach zero-dose children and missed communities in these settings, which include areas plagued by conflict, across the Sahel.

Hereโ€™s where you come in:

As the Humanitarian Operations Director, you will contribute to the improvement of immunization programs in humanitarian settings, ensuring that vulnerable populations have access to life-saving vaccines. You will ensure the successful implementation of the Gavi-funded project to reach zero-dose children in fragile and conflict settings with routine childhood immunizations. You will provide technical strategic guidance and oversight to assure the quality and impact of the project. You will work closely with the regional department of humanitarian and emergency affairs (HEA) and the Regional health team to ensure synergy and communication for joint action, and implement program operations working closely with the Regional and National Security Directors.

Requirements include:

  • Masterโ€™s or applicable degree in International relations, Business administration, Community development, Program management or Social sciences
  • Training in humanitarian assistance or humanitarian operations.
  • 5 yearsโ€™ experience in humanitarian practice with at least 3 years in management positions.
  • Hostile Environment or Security Training
  • English and French required (spoken and written). Local West African languages an advantage.
  • This position will require extensive travel in the 7 countries in the West Africa region.
