The Role
Oxfam Internationalโs Africa Platform is looking for an HR Officer to provide excellent guidance and support on the whole range of the employee lifecycle (tactical and operational), ensuring compliance to local labour law and internal policies and procedures.
Main responsibilities
General Administration
โข Provision of administrative support to the People and Culture Business Partner on day to day People
management
โข Assist with staff Internal communications
โข Conduct research on legal issues and or business practices
โข Assist in employee relation issues, interpreting and advising on policies
โข Support the implementation of the regional training and development plan and ensure that
performance management procedures are implemented
โข Help promoting safe, healthy and inclusive work environment
Recruitment
โข Actively take part in recruitment processes and provide administrative support in planning and
implementing the whole recruitment processes
โข Support in maintaining an effective induction system for new joiners by providing orientation on key
Oxfam policies and practices
โข Monitor staff contracts and produce required documents/contract extension and administration of staff termination
โข Support the initiatives to attract more women, maintaining and updating the candidate database,
contacting potential candidates, headhunting and contributing to social media campaigns
Systems and data
โข Maintain an effective staff filing system, staff lists and records, in coordination with OIS and affiliate
colleagues
โข Collecting and synthesizing data from country offices on a monthly basis, prepare regional consolidation and input quarterly management reports
Change Management
โข Support the People and Culture Business Partner with aspects in relation to the change processes in countries and the regional platform
โข Support monitoring progress of tasks and implementation of the team transition plans
โข Participate to coordination meetings and follow-up on agreed actions.
Weโre looking for a person with
Bachelorโs degree (or equivalent) in Business administration or Human resources. Previous experience in People and Culture with a generalist role High proficiency in advanced administrative concepts, practices, and procedures. Excellent demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, writing for a variety of audiences. Excellent organizational and planning skills; with great attention to details Demonstrated ability to multi-task and must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Collegial nature with multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity Customer oriented and pro-active Fluent in working communication in English (oral and written) and other languages particularly French is highly desirable. Knowledge of Oxfam context, background, and major HR processes Experience in supporting organizational change and transitions. Cross-culture understanding of how an international development agency operates, communicate well cross-culturally.What we offer
