How can you make a difference?

Under the guidance of Health Specialist, the Health Officer (Knowledge Management) will provide professional and technical assistance for designing, planning, and implementing Knowledge Management activities in order to support UNICEFโ€™s Health programme goals and objectives in India.

The Health Officer (Knowledge Management) position will play an important role in establishing and maintaining effective knowledge management systems, strategies, and plans within the Health Section. This post will be a key part in engaging with colleagues and partners to build national capacities in knowledge sharing and learning, promoting continuous improvement and innovation within the health program. The Health Officer (Knowledge Management) position is required to facilitate effective knowledge sharing, capacity building, communication, technical guidance, collaboration, reporting, and innovation within the Health Section in New Delhi, contributing to the overall success and impact of UNICEF's Health Programme in India.

Key functions, accountabilities, and related duties/tasks

1. Coordinate, implement and monitor effective knowledge management systems, strategies, and plans.

2. Engage with colleagues across the country, as well as with partners, for the production, sharing, utilization and management of knowledge products, including building national capacities in these areas while creating space for learning and knowledge sharing through various forums.

3. Coordinate and manage the quarterly video newsletters, draft/proofread scripts/ stories, and other communication products that feature stories from the health programme. Promotion of content publishing via internal channels, including ICON, Yammer, external channels, UNICEF websites and other social media.

4. Collaborate and coordinate health with the Communications, Advocay and Partnerships (CAP) team to improve the health programme portfolio and visibility and presence online, within and outside UNICEF, and support upload content on the planned platforms.

5. Coordinate and provide technical guidance to the workaround PHC/Aspirational district/Aspirational Block/CPHC programming in India.

6. Facilitate internal webinars and meetings planned for knowledge exchange on the health programme.

7. Co-create and use of digital health tools to promote capacity building, monitoring, and mentoring.

8. Manage the ECM site /UNICEF/ Health webpage and social media in collaboration with relevant teams.

9. Manage social media by drafting explicit, concise, and engaging content.

10. Support in editing and oversight to ensure sectionsโ€™ timely submission of internal and external reports.

11. Manage logistics for the Health Network Meeting as part of the sectionโ€™s overall supply inventory and management process.

12. Design and rollout of internal management and reporting tools to streamline processes that track the programme activities.

13. Coordinate knowledge management and documentation activities across the network for program advocacy.

14. Coordinate the donor reporting (writing and editing) for the health section and liaise with the Resource Mobilization and Partnerships (RMP) and Managing for Results (M4R) sections for timely submission.

15. Collaborate with Managing for Results (M4R) section for internal and external reporting like RAM, CRAVE, etc.

Education

Bachelor's/Undergraduate degree in Medical Science, Public Health, Development Studies, Health Communications and Management or relevant field is required. An additional university degree in Information Management, Informatics/Information Systems, or another relevant field will be an asset.

Work Experience

Mandatory Requirements:

โ€ข At least two years of relevant professional work experience in programme development, communication and research, evaluation, and knowledge management.

โ€ข Deep knowledge and understanding of the health sector, including national-level policies, programs, and best practices.

โ€ข Experience in analyzing complex data, identifying trends and drawing sound conclusions.

โ€ข Experience in organizing work & projects, creating content, editing, and formatting written and audiovisual documentation.

โ€ข Professional technical knowledge/expertise in Knowledge Management theory, setting up knowledge management mechanisms/platforms, planning and monitoring skills, initiating organizational behavior change around sourcing and using knowledge and evidence.

โ€ข Demonstrated experience developing Knowledge Management products and newsletters, managing social media, and/or outreach and advocacy campaigns is mandatory.

โ€ข Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

Desirable Requirements:

โ€ข Awareness of emerging international good practice in knowledge partnerships.

โ€ข Ability to communicate complex technical information to stakeholders through clear and accurate narratives and data visualization.

โ€ข A passion for the role of innovation, technology for development, frontier technology, entrepreneurship and/or social entrepreneurship is highly desirable.

Technical Skills Requirements:

โ€ข Proficiency in technology platforms for knowledge-sharing specific to UNICEF (i.e. including Office 365 โ€“ specifically MS Sharepoint, Excel, PowerBI, Drupal, and Power Automate) is highly preferred.

โ€ข Proficiency in using graphic designing tools like CANVA to design social media graphics and presentations.

โ€ข Experience using open-source data collection tools and formats (e.g. XLSForm) is a plus.

Language Requirements

Fluency in English and Hindi is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Remarks:

This is a temporary appointment, and the selected applicant will be given a 364 days of temporary appointment contract.
