DRS is looking for a Grant Officer, to work for an INGO whose mission is to promote effective solutions to global poverty problems.

Job Title: Grant Officer

Contract: open-ended contract; remote work schedule with periodical travels

Position Description:

Reporting to the Senior Grants Manager, the Grants Officer will support the awards portfolios throughout the entire life-cycle including review and negotiation of award agreements, compliance and financial monitoring, and contractual and financial reconciliation during award close-out.

The Grants Officer will play a key role in developing materials and supporting or facilitating trainings aimed at building the capacity of program and country staff in the area of compliance with grants and sub-award terms and conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide procedures and policy guidance and interpretation for program staffers as well as subgrantees to ensure adherence to grant management procedures.
  • Review grants and subaward expenditures and other financial analyses on a monthly/ quarterly basis as required.
  • Supports the design and implementation of INGO grants database systems, workflow processes, and procedures related to procurement and sub-awards.
  • Assists with financial inquiries and preparation for annual audit review.

Education:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Management, Business Administration, Economics, or any related field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 3 years of experience managing (federal) grants and/or contracts for international programs.
  • Experience with international, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions as well as a multi-office, multi-national environment.
  • Experience with Salesforce and NetSuite is a plus/added advantage.
  • Knowledge of typical grant award/contractual documents such as grant agreements, subcontracts, and modifications.
  • Experience in drafting clear and concise guidance documents.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Excellent spoken and written communication in English and French.
