GRADUATION LEAD, MALAWI CARE seeks a Graduation Lead for the anticipated USAID/Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA)-funded Early Recovery Risk Reduction and Resilience (ER4) activity in Malawi. This activity will apply a Graduation Approach with a gender focus to increase food and economic security of vulnerable households in Chikwawa and/or Nsanje districts in southern Malawi, enabling them to better manage shocks and stresses. The activity design will prioritize psychosocial wellbeing, market integration, and linkages to complementary programs and resources. This position is vital in ensuring that the activity design aligns with the principles of the Graduation Approach, and in maintaining the technical quality and integrity of the project. The Graduation Lead will play a critical role in integrating social dimensions, particularly focusing on social inclusion and the resilience of marginalized populations, into food security and community resilience activities. This position reports to the Chief of Party. This activity is expected to be a three-year program in the $25M to $49.99 million range. This is a Key Personnel position, subject to USAID approval. It is also subject to project award and funding. National candidates are encouraged to apply. This position will be based in Malawi. Responsibilities: 路 Lead and oversee the implementation of the five components of the graduation approach, ensuring adherence to the project's framework and goals. 路 Apply an in-depth understanding of gender, age, and socio-cultural factors in participant targeting and program design. 路 Ensure social dimensions of food security and community resilience are addressed effectively across all components of the activity. 路 Focus on social inclusion, particularly on marginalized populations, gender, and youth integration, to achieve intended outcomes. 路 Collaborate with the M&E Lead for the collection, analysis, and utilization of information from diverse sources. 路 Ensure that all components of the graduation approach are integrated and create multiplier effects. 路 Maintain consistent, high-quality technical implementation among sub-awardees and implementation locations. 路 Ensure technical interventions are integrated, layered, and sequenced appropriately within the activity and with external stakeholders including USAID, the private sector, other donors, and the Government of Malawi. Qualifications and experience: 路 Bachelor鈥檚 degree in development studies, Social Sciences, Public Health, Agriculture, Economics, or a related discipline. An advanced degree is preferred. 路 A minimum of 5 years of related experience in implementing the graduation approach is required. 路 Demonstrated experience designing and implementing the five components of the graduation approach with an in-depth understanding of how gender, age and other locally relevant socio-cultural factors may play a role in targeting participants. 路 Demonstrated capacity to lead the collection, analysis, and utilization of information from a broad range of sources in collaboration with the M&E Lead, Strategic Learning Advisor and Resilience and Livelihoods Technical Advisor. 路 Excellent management, interpersonal, facilitation, monitoring skills, and the ability to network and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and field experience in low resource environments. 路 Demonstrated commitment to principles of Gender Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, as evidenced in previous management positions and programming. 路 Demonstrated commitment to Prevention of Sexual Harassment, Exploitation, Abuse and Child Abuse. (PSHEA). 路 Ability to travel within Malawi as required.
