About the position


Based in Rome, Italy, the Global Engagement and Events Analyst, reporting to the Senior Officer, Global Engagement and Executive Communications, supports communication, engagement, and partnership activities for the Office of the Director-General (ODG). The Analyst also supports the Alliance's participation in large-scale strategic events and/or global policy processes (such as those related to international Frameworks and Conventions), that raise our visibility on the global stage, strengthen our network of partners, and position our innovations and technologies in the hands of users.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Support the prospecting of opportunities to position the Alliance in major events and liaises with organizers.
  • Help with keeping up to date a calendar of major events, with corresponding key players.
  • Support the Alliance in planning, organizing, implementing, and participating in large-scale events and/or processes of global reach.
  • Support public relations for the DG during meetings and events, including briefing notes, background materials, etc.
  • Support with drawing lessons learned from events to improve future coordination.
  • Support presentations, speeches, think pieces, op-ed articles, and other communication materials for the DG.
  • Support the creation and updating of a monthly social media plan for the DG.
  • Assist in other tasks and initiatives as assigned by the Senior Officer, Global Engagement, and executive communications.

    Requirements


    Essential Requirements
    • Master's degree in communications, journalism, international relations, social sciences or equivalent
    • Previous relevant work experience, preferably in an international organization or NGO, is an asset.
    • Understanding of issues related to food systems, environment, nutrition, and agriculture is preferred.
    • Excellent writing skills and good knowledge of digital platform for social media publishing.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook).
    • Advanced command of the English language, both written and spoken.
    • Intermediate command of French and/or Spanish languages, both written and spoken, is an asset.
    • Sound knowledge of standard office procedures.
    • Strong client orientation and service approach.
    • Strong interpersonal, communications, and teamwork skills; courtesy, tact, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people from different cultural and national backgrounds.
    • Well-developed skills in personal organization, priority setting, problem-solving, and accuracy.
    • Ability to work cooperatively with others, to demonstrate flexibility in fulfilling assignments, and to be proactive in planning, researching, and pitching communications opportunities.
    • Ability to convey complex and technical content in engaging, succinct, and clear formats.


      Benefits


      Terms of employment


      This is a locally recruited position which will be based in Rome, Italy. The salary is level 6, on a scale of 14 levels, with level 14 being the highest. The salary range starts from Euro 43,310 per annum. The Alliance offers an attractive remuneration package which includes a competitive salary, leave provisions, medical and life insurance, and non-contributory retirement plan. The contract will be for a period of 2 years, subject to a probationary period of 6 months, and is renewable based on performance and availability of funds.
