Accountabilities & Functional Responsibilities
The Accounting Analyst works with a team under the Finance Shared Services, that primarily
- Participates and contribute to monthly and year-end closing process for the General Ledger module
- Performs and document controls as described in the closing checklist and indicated in the closing calendar
- Performs monthly, quarterly or bi-annual financial reports as part of the service delivery
- Ventilates actual expenses using analytical dimensions
- Provides explanation or support on general ledger-related accounting inquiries
- Implements and ensure respect of financial procedures and guidelines
- Performs other related duties as assigned and in support to the team's overall tasks
Required Profile
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Have at least two (2) years working experience in general accounting
- Good understanding of financial and analytical accounting
- Experience with JD Edwards / Peoplesoft is an asset
- Experience with Process Design and Analysis
- Good knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) is an asset
- Technically proficient in using Microsoft Office softwares – e.g. Excel, Word
- Good command of written and spoken English. Knowledge of the French language is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
