We, Beyond Fossil Fuels (BFF), are an alliance of passionate civil\nsociety groups committed to transforming the European energy sector. We strive\nfor a just transition to a fossil-free, fully renewables-based energy system\nthat protects people, nature, and our planet. As an independent campaign, we\nare driven by a fierce dedication to ending our reliance on coal by 2030 and\nfossil gas by 2035 with a focus on the power sector. With your help, we can\ncreate a brighter, cleaner, and more equitable future for all. This campaign is\nsupported by a BFF secretariat, consisting of 25 people and spread across\nEurope.

\nWe're excited to introduce a new role. The Fundraising Coordinator oversees the\ngrant applications for the BFF secretariat and helps bridge strategic funding\ngaps in the BFF coalition, which consists of 70 civil society organisations and\nthink tanks across Europe.\n\n

  • Location: Remote working from a European\nlocation, or from our office in Berlin\n\n

    Please\nnote that we do not have the resources to relocate candidates to Europe from\noutside the continent.\n\n

    Your responsibilities

    • Responsible for the drafting and reporting\nof the BFF secretariat's funder grants. Project-manages, coordinates and\nsign off from relevant leagues, and ensures delivery of timely and high\nquality materials. Is available for queries and follow-up from donors.
    • Together with leagues in the BFF\nsecretariat team, identifies strategic gaps in the implementation of the BFF\ncoalition strategy, investigates what organisations could help bridge them and\nputs together a multi-year coalition resourcing plan.
    • Researches potential donors and identifies\nfunding s, based on the coalition's needs and donor interests. Spots new\nfundraising opportunities and seeks feedback as to which are worth pursuing and\nwhen. 
    • Match-makes potential funders with BFF\npartner organisations that can play a crucial role in delivering the BFF\nstrategy, but require additional resources.
    • As part of the small grants that the BFF\nsecretariat gives out to BFF coalition partner organisations, supports the BFF\ngrantmaking process.
    • Promotes awareness of BFF's mission and\nwork within the funder community. Effectively conveys BFF's activities and\nstrategy to potential donors. Cultivates a fundraising network for the coalition. Designs high-quality and\neffective promotional materials, and tailors them to different needs.\n\n

      Required skills & experience

      • At least four years of experience working\nfor energy, climate or environment civil society organisations, of which at\nleast three years was spent on fundraising;
      • Excellent spoken and written English and\nat least three years experience in writing, presenting, editing and\nproofreading written materials in English. Ability to communicate clearly and\nconcisely;
      • At least two years experience in project\nmanagement;
      • Demonstrable results in fundraising;
      • Comprehensive understanding of the energy\ntransition, including its political and economic context in Europe;
      • Experience in writing strategic pitches\nand grant proposals, newsletters and fundraising letters;
      • Strong interpersonal skills, competent at\nfacilitating and supporting the work of others, and ability to build common\ncause and reach agreements;
      • Highly organised and capable of balancing\nmultiple priorities;
      • Confident working remotely with a broad\nrange of people from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds;
      • Strong attention to detail;
      • Passion for research and understanding\ncomplex issues;
      • Passionate about promoting a healthy,\nenvironmentally friendly, and fair society.\n\n

        Desirable skills & experience

        • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in\ncommunications, business, marketing, public relations, or field related to\nBFF's areas of work
        • Fluency of other European languages
        • Certification, diploma, or similar\nqualification in fundraising
        • Competence with donor management systems
        • Legal or accounting experience is a plus.\n\n
