The Role
Oxfam International in Africa is looking for The Funding Coordinator will work closely with country teams and OiA platform colleagues with the aim of providing flexible support in the production of quality donor proposals or reports, in coordination with colleagues from the programs departments. The incumbent will seek out funding opportunities, develop proposals, and successfully close funding bids made to governments and multilateral donors, including foundations and corporations. The Funding Coordinator will be the relevant research expert to develop strategies and approaches that will respond to donor requests. The incumbent will also work closely with Oxfam's institutional funding team, the Africa business development team, humanitarian / programs teams, alongside country program teams.
Who we're looking for
A proactive, results oriented team player with experience in the management and coordination of proposals and narrative and financial reports (with different levels of complexity). Demonstrable experience of engaging and working with government and multilateral donors and foundations present in Africa. Experience with different funding mechanisms and modalities is essential, e.g., fund management, impact investment, consortia development, tendering. Knowledge of cooperation for development, humanitarian action, campaigns and political advocacy, project cycle, formulation and project evaluation is required. Ability to interact and communicate effectively (both written and verbal) with multiple internal and external stakeholders, strong planning and organizational skills. Proficiency in English and French is desirable.
