Your responsibilities
Come and join the Engineering Department's AMM (Asset and Maintenance Management) section as a Full-Stack Software Developer, where you'll be part of a team at the intersection of modern software development, asset management, DevOps, and machine learning.
In this dynamic environment, you'll be a key player in creating a portfolio of modern web applications that support various asset and maintenance management tasks across CERN for 4000 users. These applications are built on a commercial system (HxGN EAM) that acts as an inventory for millions of equipment.
By using technologies such as JavaScript (React), the HTML5 stack, Java, OIDC, and making the most of our internal cloud services, you'll be instrumental in shaping the architecture of the platform. Additionally, you'll rotate into the SCRUM master role, conduct code reviews, participate in pair coding sessions, and offer guidance to junior team members.
Your profile
Skills and/or knowledge
Experience in professional software development with back-end and front-end technologies (Java, Spring Boot or Java EE, JavaScript, HTML5, React).Proficiency in writing JavaScript single web page applications with React or a similar framework.Awareness of the interplay between HTML, CSS and JavaScript and the ability to dynamically build and modify elements on a page with ease.Hands-on experience with continuous build and automated testing.Hands-on experience in using collaborative code repository inside a team (git, GitLab, GitHub).Eligibility criteria:
You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.You have a professional background in Software Engineering (or a related field) and have either: a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.Additional Information
