General objective of the position:

Computerizes, classifies, records, verifies and maintains numerical data for use in maintaining financial records.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

路 Ensures the smooth day-to-day financial management of Turkey office through effective supervision and management of the finance/accounting team.

路 Ensures that SAMS finance policies, procedures and systems.

路 Collaborates with field, country and HQ offices to implement, improve and maintain financial management policies, systems, structures, and procedures.

路 Oversee petty cash maintenance and bank register maintenance, ensuring all expenses are reasonable and appropriately authorized and recorded.

路 Coordinates compiling of all project monthly financial reports for submission to the HQ office

路 Ensures all financial documentation are adherent to SAMS鈥檚 standards and/or donor requirements.

路 Assists project coordinators in ensuring compliance with field accounting policies and procedures, compliance with donor agreements and audit requirements.

路 Plans and supervises work of the country finance staff

路 Prepares country office budget vs. actual reports on monthly basis.

路 Works closely with the Country Director and program managers to prepare and monitor the office and project budgets.

路 Assist in facilitating any internal / external audits.

路 Makes sure that financial records and backup documentation are ready for internal and external audits and works closely with external auditors to answer any inquiries.

路 Review & reconcile physical cash to the cash book on a weekly basis

路 Prepare weekly cash report & submit to the country director

路 Prepare monthly financial reports related to all office operations

路 Ensure payroll remittances are made each month on a timely basis.


Mandatory Qualifications required

路 University degree in Accountancy or Finance

路 Minimum 2 years鈥 experience in Accountancy, Bookkeeping, Accounting, and Auditing Clerks, Bill and Account Collectors

路 Desired 2 years鈥 experience in Accounting software: QuickBooks - Alamen - AFAK


路 Fluency written and spoken in Arabic

路 Intermediate written and spoken English


路 Maintaining Charts of Accounts

路 Professional Knowledge in Finance/Accounting
