About the Context
NRC has been working in Burkina Faso since 2019, with staff dedicated to assisting people affected by conflict and displacement. Its humanitarian interventions are based on its programming expertise in the Core Competencies of Shelter, Site Management, Education, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Protection from Violence, along with Information Counselling and legal Assistance (ICLA) to vulnerable displaced people.ย
NRC has a presence in two primary areas โ Liptako/Soum (Dori office) and Goulmou/Sirba/Tapoa (Fada office), with several field offices in hard-to-reach areas and in partnership with national and international organizations.

What we are looking forย
To achieve its countryโs strategic objectives, NRC is looking for an experienced and dedicated Finance Manager to oversee a dynamic finance team, as well as provide strategic financial planning and impeccable financial management for the entirety of our programs in country.
The purpose of the Finance function is to ensure the financial sustainability and integrity of the organization by managing its resources effectively, providing accurate financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory, and donor requirements. The function works in partnership with the global operational departments and countries to enable NRC's mission.
The function is crucial for stewardship of organizational assets, providing strategic financial planning and analysis, managing internal controls, maximizing resource utilization, and ensuring accountability to all stakeholders.
NRC is particularly looking for a finance manager with the strength and vision to support fresh and innovative teams of highly professional finance staff across our areas of operations.ย
What you will doย
Budgeting and Reporting
Update the Master Budget on a regular basis to ensure funding needs are up-to-date and ensure coverage with the donor funding.
Prepare budget for new proposals, ensuring donor regulations are taken into consideration.
Prepare finance reports for donors or carry out quality control and compilation when the elaboration is done by area offices.
Support the Annual Funding Allocation planning process and annual revisions.
Financial Analysis
Prepare elaborate monthly budget versus actual for all projects, including forecast of expenditures in coordination with programme teams.
Provide financial advice and guidance to the budget holders in programmes, support and CMG ensuring the alignment of resource allocations with organisational priorities within budgeting and implementation stages.
Prepare the forecast of the annual income as part of the standard reporting to the board members.
Accounting and Cashflow Management
Ensure monthly accounting closing is done on time following NRC financial procedures and reconciliation of balance accounts including incomes received from donors.
Supporting Documentation, Financial Systems, and Auditing
Ensure that โsecuring supporting documentation monthly proceduresโ are being followed by the Finance Staff across all Area Offices.
Lead on annual audits, statuary audits and audits required by the local authorities. Lead/support the project audits.ย
Capacity Building
Provide strong leadership to the Finance team in all offices whether with a direct line management orย
Conduct training on Finance Procedures and Donor regulations to Finance, Programme and Support staff at Country offices and Area Offices

What you will bringย
Professional Competencies
Minimum three years of experience working in a senior finance role with managerial responsibility in a humanitarian/recovery context.
Bachelorโs degree in a relevant field.ย
Working proficiency in English,ย both written and verbal.
Context Related Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
Previous experience within the region and/or area of operations is preferable.
Working proficiency in French and English, both written and verbal.
Experience in risk management with implementing partnersย
