Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Protection Officer, and with the direct supervision of the Protection Programme Specialist (Capacity Building), the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the implementation of IOM Ukraineโ€™s Protection Programming at the oblast/area level, applying protection principles and techniques, interagency and cluster guidelines, adhering to IOM standards and procedures, and collaborating with IOM teams, NGOs, authorities and other relevant partners.

  1. Provide support to Protection Programme in the implementation of projects, including monitoring of activities and drafting inputs for projectsโ€™ reporting and development.
  2. Support with conducting capacity building activities for projects by handling logistical matters, drafting and organizing content, assisting with presentations and materials for group work, and monitoring impact. Such activities may be national, regional, or local/community, necessitating coordination with representatives of government, civil society, and other relevant stakeholders.
  3. Support the use of capacity building content and tools in consultation with various stakeholders. This may include but not be limited to collating technical input and guidance from IOM staff, implementing partners, and government efforts.ย 
  4. Support the Protection Programmeโ€™s contribution of technical expertise at various events, coordination structures, and platforms internal and external of IOM and at regional, national and sub-national level, such as operational support to the Protection Clusterโ€™s Anti-Trafficking Task Team, and other working groups, including those led by the Government of Ukraine.
  5. In coordination with the Programme Specialist (Capacity Building), support guidance to the NGO partners and protection field staffย oncapacity development component byย providing necessary guidelines on procedures and clearances on processes, budget related information, administrative actions and follow ups, projects drafting and reporting.ย 
  6. Support with compiling information on national, regional, and local human trafficking trends, counter-trafficking responses, and relevant protection issues for meetings, workshops, briefings, reporting, knowledge products and other internal and external initiatives.ย 
  7. Contribute to reporting and administration of capacity building activities, such as data collection and entry for reporting writing, facilitating procurement matters, collaborating with colleagues to meet deadlines, maintain files/records and proactively identifying programmatic and operational gaps.
  8. Maintain positive working relationships with relevant stakeholders including partners, beneficiaries, other sector staff and other implementing organizations on the ground.
  9. Undertake duty travel based on programme needs.
  10. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
  11. Provide regular updates and verifyย that key information is received from partners, protection field staff and directed to theย Programme Specialist (Capacity Building) to improve protection activities and address operational problems by offering alternatives. This includes but is not limited to adhering to technical and administrative guidance and submitting high qualityย and timely reports.
