a.ย ย ย Organizational Setting
ย
The post is located in the Operations Service of The Hague Registry, Brands and Designs Sector.ย The Operations Service processes international design applications and other transactions related to the administration of the various Acts of the Hague Agreement.
ย
b.ย ย ย Purpose Statement
ย
The incumbent examines international design applications and processes changes or decisions regarding international registrations.
ย
c.ย ย ย ย Reporting Lines
ย
The incumbent works under the supervision of the Coordinator of the Operations Service.
ย
2.ย ย ย ย ย Duties and Responsibilities
ย
The incumbent will perform the following principal duties:
ย
a.ย ย Examine in-depth international design applications;
ย
b.ย ย Verify data concerning applications entered into the computer system;
ย
c.ย ย Verify the conformity of applications for international registration according to the applicable legal texts (Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs) and, if necessary, draft irregularity letters;
ย
d.ย ย Follow-up of international applications with regard to irregularity letters sent and, in particular, decisions on the action to be taken after the receipt of the replies to these irregularities from applicants;
ย
e.ย ย Process modifications, renewals, refusals, rectifications or any other documents received with respect to an international design application or registration;
ย
f.ย ย ย Verify fees and follow-up with the financial services on payments;
ย
g.ย ย Participate in the training of new Examiners;
ย
h.ย ย Supply information of a practical nature to national Offices, lawyers and users of the industrial design system, relating to the procedure for international registration, the status of applications being examined or already recorded in the International Register, the payment of fees or any other related questions;

i.ย ย ย Perform other related duties as required.

ย
Education (Essential)
Secondary education with relevant diploma.
ย
Education (Desirable)
First-level university degree.
