EpiC Project Description:

Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC), a global project funded by the U.S. Presidentโ€™s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Government (USG) that provides strategic technical assistance and direct service delivery to achieve HIV epidemic control among all at-risk populations; strengthen global health security (GHS), including outbreak response; improve maternal and child health (MCH), address malaria; and nutrition.

In 2020, FHI 360 through EpiC launched a new multi-year project in Central Asia being implemented in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan. Building on the successes to date in the three countries, EpiC is focusing on expanding HIV case finding in the community, and treatment initiation, adherence, and retention support for people living with HIV (PLHIV).

Job description:

The EpiC Kyrgyzstan Associate Director, Technical will be the country-level technical lead for the GHS and HIV activities and will also provide management and coordination support for program implementation of the project. Reporting to the EpiC Kyrgyzstan Project Director, they will be working closely with EpiC global technical team, provide technical assistance (TA), monitoring and capacity building for the EpiC Kyrgyzstan project staff, provide management and quality assurance support to the project and ensure successful implementation of the work plan and achievement of the projectโ€™s targets and goals within budget. They will support the development of deliverables and reports for the program and ensure timely, quality submissions. Supervising the team consisting of technical and project support staff, the EpiC Kyrgyzstan Associate Director, Technical will provide management support and guidance to this team to ensure timely results against project targets. They will also work closely with the projectโ€™s implementing partners to provide ongoing direct technical support during field visits to the implementation sites. They will be responsible for the technical inputs to the annual work planning at the country level, will take the lead in developing guidelines/policies for the institutionalization of the GHS and HIV response and mitigation activities, will participate in technical thought leadership both at the regional and country-levels. They will liaise closely with EpiC leadership across the EpiC CAR countries and at the global level to assess and adapt best practices to effectively prevent, detect, and respond to infectious diseases.
