The ILO is issuing a call for expression of interest for the above position. This is an assignment of a purely temporary nature, not expected to lead to a career in the ILO. Duration is 12 months (possibly renewable).

The selection process is not subject to the rules and procedures defined in Annex I of the ILO Staff Regulations.

The following are eligible to apply:

Introduction

The position is located in the Application Management Services (AMS) within the Information and Technology Management Department (INFOTEC). INFOTEC is responsible for information management and utilization of technology for the ILO. AMS is responsible for the IT application portfolio of the ILO. Applications and services supported include ERP, Document and Records Management, Collaboration, Business Intelligence/Dashboard solutions and custom point solutions as needed.

The position provides expertise in the business and process analysis areas with a focus on relationship management, application configuration/design and implementation related to collaboration and knowledge sharing solutions, dashboards/workspaces and self-service processing capabilities. This role acts as a liaison between INFOTEC and business units in determining how to best implement software to streamline, automate and facilitate process efficiency and improve means of working together. The position will report to the ECM lead within AMS.

Description of Duties

1. Engage and communicate with business stakeholders to gather/review business requirements, assist and facilitate the formulation of project proposals and business cases and translate stakeholder needs into specifications, functional designs and solution suggestions taking into consideration ILO information and technology standards, strategies, technologies and solutions.

2. Support the design and implementation of custom SharePoint solutions and processes (collaboration, self-service processes with automated approval workflow, custom solutions, role-oriented dashboards, etc.) by ensuring the solutions focus on user-oriented designs, consistent information architecture/classification and processing/retrieval of content dependent on role.

3. Design and implement standard SharePoint solutions through configuration and use of standards functionalities and components.

4. Coordinate the delivery of specific tasks and smaller projects.

5. Perform system testing, facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business partners as well as other testing and Quality Assurance activities.

6. Prepare documentation (procedures, processes, wireframes, prototype designs, user manuals, test cases, etc.) and deliver training to users. Enable effective adoption of IT applications and solution.

7. Provide post go-live support to delivered solutions to resolve functional/process/procedural questions, application bugs, custom code errors, etc. Engage database/system administration and development teams for the implementation of patches, upgrades and custom code application.

8. Adhere to project management standards including preparation of status reports, project plans, effort estimations, etc. in conjunction with the project lead. Prepare briefing materials, presentations and provide training as needed to user communities.

9. Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Required qualifications

Education

Advanced university degree (Masterโ€™s or equivalent) in IT, Information Management or other related field.

A first-level university degree (Bachelorโ€™s or equivalent) in one of the afore-mentioned fields or other relevant field with an additional two years of relevant experience, in addition to the required five years of experience stated below, will be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.

Experience

At least five years of professional experience providing business/functional analysis functions with information management and/or process/workflow applications including experience in implementing Microsoft SharePoint or similar ECM and/or workflow automation suite.

Languages

Excellent command of one working language (English, French, Spanish) of the Organization and working knowledge of a second working language of the Organization.
