Your responsibilities

In this role you will join the Accelerators Systems Department (SY) and work within the Radio Frequency (RF) group throughout the CERN accelerator complex.
You will work with the Low-Level RF (LLRF) systems based on mixed-signal analog and digital electronics, used for controlling the beam as it gets accelerated and transported up to the Large Hadron Collider.

Your responsibilities will include:

Revising and improving test methodologies for existing hardware designs; Compiling new procedures for new designs;Diagnosing and reporting complex hardware faults;Proposing solutions for improving fault diagnostics and repair strategies;Organizing and maintaining an inventory management system using EAM.

Your profile

Skills and/or knowledge

Experience in testing and measurement of analog and digital electronic circuits; Knowledge of Radio Frequency electronics;Knowledge of Mixed-signal Printed Circuit Board design;Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, TCL, Shell) and Git.

Advantageous:

Knowledge of FPGA development;Knowledge Enterprise asset Management systems.

Language:

Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.

Eligibility criteria:

You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.You have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Electronics Technician (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma.You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
