Travel: Travel to project field locations.

Role and responsibilitiesย 

The purpose of the Youth Education Project Assistant is to assist in the day-to-day implementation of youth education activities for both Libyan and non-Libyan children, adolescents, and youth (TVET, English language programme, life skills) under supervision of the Education Project Officer. Activities include but not limited to, volunteersโ€™ professional development, youth trainings, life skills, outreach activities.

The following is a brief description of the role.

Generic responsibilities (max 10)ย

ย โ€ข Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.

ย โ€ข Strict adherence to the NRC Code of Conduct and Child Safeguarding Policyย 

โ€ข Assist with the implementation of the education project according to the plan of action.ย 

โ€ข Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.ย 

โ€ข Ensure proper filing of documents.ย 

โ€ข Promote and share ideas for technical improvement.

ย โ€ข Make decisions on the ground with limited or remote supervision.ย 

Specific responsibilities:ย 

These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus, and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly.ย 

โ€ข Responsible for implementing the planned education activities at field level following programme work-plans under the supervision of the Education Project Officer.

ย โ€ข Monitor, supervise, and provide directions to incentive-based teachers and volunteers in line with project work-plans and objectives including weekly task/lesson plans.ย 

โ€ข Develop and regularly update classes/training schedules (life skills, basic literacy and numeracy classes, youth activities. etc.), PSS activities and outreach plans for assigned activities.ย 

โ€ข Regular travel to field to ensure ongoing monitoring, data collection (attendance, pre-post assessments, registration, enrollment), support, and reporting of activities at field level.

ย โ€ข Support the delivery of teacher training, community engagement initiatives, outreach activities in coordination with Education Project Officer.

ย โ€ข Ensure direct communication and feedback with beneficiaries and relevant host communities including internal and external referrals, dissemination of NRC CFM as well as report beneficiariesโ€™ feedback.

ย โ€ข Facilitate life skills and parents' engagements activities. โ€ข Ensure collection of all needed documents from incentive-based volunteers' payment to facilitate their monthly incentive payment.ย 

โ€ข Conducting needs assessments.ย 

โ€ข Support and implement distributions of teaching and learning materials.ย 

โ€ข Supervision of incentive-based volunteers including attendance, work deliverables, and cash for-work documentation.ย 

โ€ข Any other task relevant to the position as requested by line manager.

โ€ข Written and spoken fluency in Arabic; proficiency in English.ย
