About this position
We are looking for an Education Consultant for the Haiti Education Portfolio. As an education consultant, your main task will be to coordinate and implement day to day activities of the Education Portfolio in Haiti and the School Feeding Regional Team. Under the supervision of the Education Team lead, you will work as part of the SCL/EDU team which is part of the Social Sector department. The team is responsible of implementing the Education portfolio within Haiti and the regional work on school feeding. The selected candidate will specifically support the project team in overseeing the IDB Haiti Education Portfolio and IDB school feeding regional work.
What youโll do:
Haiti:
- Supervision: support the Team Leader in the supervision of the education portfolio, especially the HA-J0006 and HA-L1102, by mainly coordinating closely with the executing units of the EDU portfolio in Haiti, working closely with extended team members, and supporting the monitoring of result matrix progress. The consultant will be responsible for taking meeting minutes of the PAPDEF general assemblies and the NGO meetings. The consultant will be responsible for monitoring the portfolio technical cooperationโs HA-T1305 and HA-T1281 in close coordination with the team analyst and Team Leader.
- Technical work: support the team by providing technical expertise in the following areas, inter alia: (i) school feeding; (ii) early childhood; (iii) quality assurance system (QAS); (iv) service delivery; and (v) curriculum reform (vi) Support implementation of school feeding pre-summit flagship in Brasilia. The consultant will be responsible for supporting the MENFP in strengthening its technical capacity in the aforementioned areas.
- Focal point and partnerships: the consultant will serve as the direct focal point for a number of activities as agreed to with the Team Leader. The consultant will serve as the partner coordination focal point in the absence of the Team Leader and will work to ensure that IDB and external education partner relations are maintained โ especially given the IDB role as GSE President. Finally the consultant will work to maintain working relationships with the ONAPE.
- Teamwork: Collaborate closely with internal IDB colleagues in the Education Division as well as the Haiti Country Office; attend relevant meetings. The consultant will provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
What you'll need
- Education: Bachelorโs Degree or Equivalent in Management, Project management, Economics, Education, Social Sciences, or similar or equivalent
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience but less than 5 years in the international education sector, of which preferably 3 in Haiti
- Languages: Fluent in French and English. Haitian Creole a value added

- Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
