CGAP envisages responsible and inclusive financial ecosystems that enable a green, resilient, and equitable world for all. CGAP is guided by a five-year strategy and annual workplans โ€“ the new strategy covering FY24-28 (CGAP VII Strategy) will contribute to strengthening responsible and inclusive financial ecosystems by elevating the focus of financial inclusion to broader development outcomes.ย ย 
To achieve this, CGAP will focus on contributing to seven outcome areas through its work program: (i) mobilizing financial services for climate adaptation, mitigation, and a just transition; (ii) mobilizing financial services for building resilience to shocks and managing risk; (ii) mobilizing financial services for women and MSEs to capture economic opportunities; (iv) increasing the breadth and depth of financial inclusion; (v) promoting responsibility in financial ecosystems and enabling financial sector policies and regulations; (vi) enhancing the effectiveness of impact investing in inclusive finance and the inclusiveness of carbon markets; and (vii) generating and promoting evidence of what works, where, and for whom.ย

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
CGAP is looking for an energetic and motivated E T Consultant to provide support to the CGAP CEO with all front office-related tasks.ย 
The E T Consultant will work in CGAPโ€™s front office and report to CGAPโ€™s CEO, carrying out their tasks in close collaboration with other team members, as required. The front office also includes a Senior Financial Sector Specialist, who leads CGAPโ€™s results management activities, a Strategy Officer, who supports CGAPโ€™s results management activities, and an Executive Assistant. The E T Consultant will have the following main responsibilities:ย 
(i) support the CGAP CEOโ€™s day-to-day work program; (ii) operate as the secretariat to the CGAP Leadership Team, (iii) play the role of liaison between CGAPโ€™s Leadership Team and the World Bank Group, in particular the Economic, Finance and Institutions (EFI) Vice-Presidency, and iv) support the CGAP CEO and Leadership Team in overseeing the implementation of CGAP VII strategy.
In particular, the work will focus on:
Support CGAP CEOโ€™s day-to-day work program.ย  This work involves assisting the CEO in managing and following up on strategic and operational issues, including preparing background analytical work and research; preparing briefs, material and minutes for key meetings; and preparing talking points and presentations for key events.ย ย ย Serve as the Secretariat to CGAPโ€™s Leadership Team (LT), under the coordination of the CEO, including coordinating agendas for LT meetings; preparing and distributing background material as needed; taking minutes and sharing with staff; and following up on key issues and decisions.ย ย Play the role of liaison between CGAPโ€™s Leadership Team and the World Bank Group, in particular the EFI Vice-Presidency. This work involves being aware of strategic, operational, reporting, coordination, or other issues requiring coordination with the EFI leadership team or other units in the WBG; convening within CGAP, in coordination with the CEO, a suitable response or follow up; making sure deadlines are met; and preparing material and presentations as needed.
Support the implementation of the CGAP VII strategy under the leadership of CGAPโ€™s CEO and Leadership Team. This work involves organizing triannual Business Review Meetings for the Leadership Team; coordinating annual strategic discussions on the progress achieved by each outcome area per fiscal year and brainstorming on potential frontier topics for CGAP future work program; and contributing to the development of CGAPโ€™s annual workplan. This work requires strong knowledge of CGAPโ€™s strategic directions for FY24-29, staying abreast with CGAPโ€™s progress towards achieving the main outcomes and individual project results, and understanding key priorities of CGAPโ€™s main funders and partner institutions in the field of financial inclusion. The work may also entail conducting background research activities.ย ย 
Specific tasks include (but are not limited to):ย 
โ€ข Support CGAPโ€™s CEO day-to-day work program to ensure timely delivery of CGAPโ€™s major deliverables, in coordination with CGAP Corporate Team, by alerting the relevant parties when deadlines are approaching.ย โ€ข Assist in the preparation of CGAPโ€™s reporting to and other contributions to its Executive Committee (ExCom), its Council of Governors (CG), and to relevant units in the World Bank Group, including the EFI Vice-Presidency, in coordination with the CGAP Corporate Team.ย โ€ข Assist in the preparation of emails, talking points, speeches, briefing notes, and other background notes required by CGAPโ€™s CEO.ย โ€ข Prepare agendas, materials, and minutes for CGAP Leadership Team meetings.โ€ข Provide quantitative and qualitative analytical support for a wide range of strategic and corporate initiatives to inform leadership team discussions.ย โ€ข Prepare the initial drafts of documents, presentations, and background notes required for various strategic and corporate initiatives.ย โ€ข In coordination with the CEO and Leadership Team, contribute to the oversight of CGAP VII strategy implementation.โ€ข Help organize triannual Business Review Meetings and annual strategic discussions on the progress towards achieving CGAP VII outcomes and projects results.

In addition to meeting the World Bank-wide and FCI-specific criteria for this level position, it is expected that the selected candidate would meet the following criteria:

โ€ข A masterโ€™s degree in Business Administration, Finance, International Development or another relevant fieldย 
โ€ข At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in strategy, outcomes orientation, financial inclusion, or another relevant field.
โ€ข Experience working with or at development agencies (including bilateral, multilateral or development finance institutions, and foundations).ย 
โ€ข Analytical experience including ability to manage and analyze large data sets.
โ€ข Proven ability to think conceptually and analyze information from varied sources to extract key relevant messages.
โ€ข Strong integrative thinking and ability to extract integrated points of view from discussions.
โ€ข Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to speak and write persuasively and present ideas clearly and concisely.
โ€ข Proven track record in drafting quality papers/notes/briefs.
โ€ข Agile, curious, and open mind; an ability to learn, adapt, and be innovative.ย 
โ€ข Ability to multi-task, work under tight deadlines, and handle conflicting demands or directions.
