Driver-RWANDA Office

Overview To support transport activities in Rwanda under the TREPA Project and assist in the daily errands.

Duties and responsibilities

• Drive ICRAF staff and authorized personnel to designated areas.
  
• Transport project materials and supplies to various destinations.
  
• Maintain the vehicle in good condition.
  
• Do regular preventive maintenance and minor repairs where possible.
  
• Notify the Country Director and Finance &Admin Officer of any major vehicle repairs.
  
• Ensure that all required documentation for administrative use such as mileage, fuel usage is always kept up to date in the prescribed manner.
  
• Prepare monthly mileage and fuel reports.
  
• Ensure that all legal, institutional, and vehicle customs clearance requirements and dues are paid on good time and/or regularly renewed.
  
• Distribute all office correspondences to donors, partners, and government.
  
• Any other official duty that may be assigned.
  
  
  

  Requirements

  • Two years’ work as a professional driver in an NGO organization.
    
  • O-level of education.
    
  • Thorough knowledge of road rules and regulations.
    
  • Valid driving license.
    
  • Defensive driving is an added advantage.
    
  • Skills in minor vehicle repair.
    
  • Competent in spoken and written English & French.

      • This is a Locally Recruited position. CIFOR-ICRAF offers competitive remuneration in local currency commensurate with skills and experience.
