Your responsibilities

The IT Platforms and Workflows (IT-PW) group provides solutions for web hosting and authoring, identity and access management as well as platforms for reproducible analysis workflows. These tools are offered to all CERN users.

As part of the IT-PW group, the Application and Reusable Workflow (ARW) section is hosting some of the most critical Java applications for CERN daily life and Single Sign On Infrastructure based on Keycloak. The service is built on Kubernetes and makes wide use of CNCF opensource tools.

As a successful candidate you will :

Help with Operations of Kubernetes systems Automate and upgrade deployment processes of infrastructure componentsKeep up to date all tools and components used in the serviceHelp with maintenance and operations of Puppet based systemsBe in contact with other IT teams to: Maintain and operate Logging Infrastructure Develop new features as requested by developer communities

Your profile

Skills and/or knowledge

Problem solving attitudeKnowledge of container orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes)Administration capabilities of Linux based computing systemsKnowledge of logging infrastructure such as OpenSearch and Fluent bit/FluentdKnowledge of automation and declarative tools such as ArgoCD, Terraform etc.

Eligibility criteria:

You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Software engineering (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.Applicants without University degree are not eligible.Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
